The amount of data lacking in that article is alarming.

And if you can't fill it back up in 10 minutes, well, no dice.

Not to mention driving around with all that weight when you don't need it 99% of the time, using electricity just to haul it around (the Toyota argument over long range EVs).

Now, if they are going to cut the battery in half and still give me a 300+ mile range, you got something.

another thing is that there is a million apps for the millions f different charging stations out there...and you need a new profile for each in order to use it....WTF?

Im already annoyed at all the apps i already use, i dont want to have to fiddle around with 10 different apps just so i can charge my car at a charging station....

Long range is far less important than fast charging. Like you said, it makes far less sense, and to me, it only lessens range anxiety as a marketing point, yet fast charging would do the same to reduce range anxiety if we had infrastructure to support it. We clearly are headed in the wrong direction. They need more access and to retrofit charging infrastructure to parking spots.

Yep. Reduce 75% charging down to under, say 15 minutes, provide lots of places to charge, and have a fairly decent range (for me 250+) and folks won't care.

Almost no one buys ICE being concerned about range. The cars I've owned in my life have had ranges of anywhere between 250 and 500 miles. None of them did i know the range before I bought them.

That's where we need to get to for full adoption of EV. We are a long way from that though. Chevy is close with their claim of 100 miles in 10 minutes on a fast charger for the bottom of the range.

I think EV adoption will increase once EV's dont require you to learn to "how to car"

With an ICE you just get in and go, you know where everything is and you dont have to think about it.

With an EV at this point its as if you are learning how to "drive" first generation idrive for the very first time, and with a million supplimentary apps to go with it.

There is that, and one of the reasons why I won't buy a Tesla.

GM, in my opinion, seems to be taking the "it's a car first" approach to it from what I've seen. I guess we'll see what will sell once they start producing them.

Thumbs down

I'm not buying a damn car where the only control interface inside is a freaking touch screen. GTFO
