How to install an auto-dimming mirror for the Subaru BRZ 2022

Hey guys, I made a video tutorial on how to install the auto-dimming mirror in your Subaru BRZ 2022. I tried to get straight to the point. Let me know if this helped you!

Would you mind testing if your Homelink buttons work? Per this thread, there's suspicion that the wiring harness or something about mirror isn't quite right and homelink universally isn't working yet:

https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=147755

Theoretically, if it works, when you push one of the homelink buttons you should get an orange LED to light up under the mirror (eg, you should be able to see it through the mirror's surface) on the lower left hand side.

Thanks!

Yes, I forgot to test the HomeLink. I will do that today.

My hide was chapped when I took delivery of the car back in November because I had bought a camlock style frameless JDM mirror in advance, just to have them change to a wedgelock style on the 22

Very nice DIY. Does anyone know if the GR86 can use same mirror and has the same wiring in the overhead?

Could you give me a link to where you got your frameless mirror? Mine is having the HomeLink not working issue, and I might return it of a better one.

@PhatFreshPrince did you ever test if the homelink part works?

Yes, the HomeLink is not working for me. There are no lights or anything on. I will let the dealer check it out after the holidays.

I got mine from Toyota directly, it's PN SU003-07866

but it won't fit onto the windshield directly, either you'd have to change the mount or find an adapter, which I wasn't able to find.

That's for the older model, correct?

Correct, all the way up to 2020. I assumed, in error, that Subaru would keep the windshield mount the same for the second gen, but they did not.

I don't know of a frameless mirror option for the 2nd gen at this time.

Toyota shows one for the GR86, but I haven't been able to find the part number for it yet.

So Is the homelink issue fixed? Or does it require dealer BCM flash?
