I'm curious as to the effects this has once the airbag deploys, I wonder if you'll have a nice toyota logo branded to your forehead.

As long as you're attaching it with something stronger than elmers glue, then it's no different than the original.

It would be cool if someone got a vinyl that matched T-invader and had it behind the Toyota logo. Would match the rest of the interior, for those who haven't wrapped their interior pieces in carbon fiber.

Your concern is valid despite what others have said. This is the main reason I refuse to tamper with it for now. Only thing I would consider is maybe a leather embossed Toyota emblem glued in place. I hardly notice the scion one as it is, so will likely not touch it.

no, the scion logo won't because it was meant to be there, now with the t-bradge,if the bond with the airbag vinyl isn't stong enough, the explosion from the airbag will break the t-badge loose and launch it right towards your head. Have you ever seen an airbag explode real time? It's violent, and it happens in fractions of a second.

So youre thinking the plastic of the logo will accelerate faster then the plastic of the air bag cover....I get it, guess you should go test it out for us.

The airbag cover doesn't come off, it hinges over. Ideally, the emblem stays attached to it. However, when you remove the factory logo and glue something on, there is no telling if the logo will remain attached throughout the whole deployment process.

look, @kodyo here's video of an airbag deploying, best I could find

The vinyl stays with the steering wheel. From what I understand the Scion badge is glued and actually has pins into the vinyl. That way, when the airbag deploys the badge stays with the vinyl. Now by removing that, and simply gluing another badge on, there's less keeping it the badge on the vinyl. When the sucker explodes, that badge may or may not stay on. From how violent those things explode, probably not.

If you like the toyota badge and are willing to risk it, then by all means go ahead, but don't go talking to me like I'm an idiot who has no idea what he's talking about. Thanks

even if it were to come off, its not molten metal, its not going to brand you...its SOFT plastic, Ive done the logo swap and have an idea what the plastic is...take your finger nail to your scion logo on your wheel its not hard plastic and neither are toyota emblems...if youre not sure about it DONT DO IT. Its not that big of a deal, a piece of plastic vs any crap you have laying around in your car the plastic is the least of your worries
