lower your standards and definition for the word 'clean' when it comes to a black car.

Mine's an auto and like everyone else I love it.

It's Raven as well, I've had black cars before, and when they are clean they are beautiful, they just don't stay that way for long!

You'll get used to it after a while, you may not ever like it, but you will get used to it.

I wouldn't give up my manual but you have to admit the auto is great for traffic, steep inclines in traffic and cars on your rear bumper and (I can't believe it) mpg! As for black it 's great when it cleaned and polished but any spec of dirt (or even pollen) shows up and eventually so will the swirls. I used to keep a bunch of new micro fiber cloths and bottles of detailer in the trunk of my black Si and wipe it down every so often instead of constantly washing it.

Auto here, too! Honestly, I've always wanted to learn how to drive manual but I haven't made it a high-enough priority. Tried it twice but they were short lessons. Only reason I didn't get a manual was because I wanted to be able to drive it off the lot without ruining/crashing it.. : )))

I extensively test drove both the automatic and the manual before making a purchase, and at the end of the day, I settled for the convenience of the automatic with the ability still drive spiritedly by having the capability to shift manually.

More or less, both cars felt identical. And using my car as a daily driver, I still feel strongly about the fact that I made the right purchase even though I initially had a bit of remorse.

If anyone gives me a hard time about having an automatic transmission in a sports car, I usually point them the way of the PDK, 458 Italia and GTR with their DCT systems (not that it's a valid direct comparison, but I'm sure you get the point).

Only regret of the AT is the no launch control.

Other than that, I wish the gear ratios were a little closer to MT, but at the same time really appreciate the tall 6th for 35+ MPG.

I was driving a Ferrari 360 with flappy paddles the other day and my impression was that the transmission didn't feel very different from that in the FRS.

Also have an automatic Raven and love it. Need to buy good cleaning products and educate yourself on detailing a car if you want to keep it looking nice. Good luck!

I had a similar experience with the Italia 458.

The automatic transmission on the FR-S is as responsive a unit as I have used, which to me was incredibly suprising for the price.
