Removed the OEM Subaru battery (26.4 lbs) and replaced with a Mele Design Firm battery box and an XSPower Li-S680 battery (5.8lbs combined weight) for a net weight loss of 20.6lbs from the front right of the car.

Nice.

Please don't hate me for asking... but does this car need a rear wing for balance? I don't see you having a front splitter yet and I wasn't (don't know) if rear stability was a concern at stock power levels with R-comps.

Thanks, @Opie!

@dowroa

It's a valid question, what I have found with the rear wing is that it definitely increases rear grip in turns and makes the rear end more stable. It required a different suspension approach than what I was using before but has allowed me to enter, and travel through turns at higher speeds. Depending on the track, & particular turn, it sometimes does add understeeer that may be improved with some front aero; Daytona banking, Barber T2, Sebring T1 & T17, etc. I am considering a splitter, or canards, or hood ducting, or all 3 to see how that changes the balance.

Since I just changed the sway bars and lightened the battery I need to see how the handling feels after that, then consider what is next...but moar aero is likely coming.

It's not required IMO. It does look cool though! And it will be required eventually.
