Wow, I didn't expect this so soon. Maybe it's normal.. I haven't paid attention to this kind of thing in so long.

Looks like no changes for the BRZ (edit: aside from price.) Seems people without GR86 allocations yet are looking at a 23. Silver lining is that 23's might be here soon enough for the northerners to actually enjoy them a bit before snow.

It’s funny taking pre-orders for cars that will never even see the shores here. Almost as funny as 10th anniversary edition that will never see the light of day.

Sorry I’m just super irritated with allocations right now

Sorry I’m just super busy right now
Why would they not take orders for cars that are planned? It is what all the car companies do now and there is no indication they won't show up.
There are already posted codes for a 10th anniversary SE. They put out a SE every single year why would you possibly doubt one now?

Please be more busy.

Maybe he's just trolling.

Commendable for them to keep the price increase that low given the current economic "climate".

I’m not trolling Toyota is soon probably gonna end production of the 2022 model of which they weren’t able to build enough for the demand. Now we’re going to have 2023 models that they’re probably not gonna have enough to make for demand they talk about a 10th anniversary edition that will probably be a unicorn. It’s nice to talk about it all it’s another thing to actually produce them.

This lack of production by Toyota has created a scenario for most of us who walked through the doors of a dealership wanting to get a GR86 to have to pay anywhere from 5000 to 10,000 over MSRP and the dealers are basically telling us to go shove it if we don’t like it.

I’ve been a member here since 2012 I’ve owned three FRS and 86s I’m just a little disappointed in Toyota right now

I read it as a mild nervous breakdown. That's a lot of want and frustration over a car.

Hopefully (fingers crossed) the parts supply issue will be resolved by the end of this year.
ALL manufacturers have been in the same boat for the last two years it isn't a Toyota thing.
The 10th Anniversary issue will indeed be a limited number and only a relative handful of people will get one. That is how special editions work.

I assume you know Toyota doesn't produce these cars, correct? I would imagine that since it is their production line Subaru controls to some extent how many and how long production continues, with input from Toyota, but ultimately Subaru controls the line.

Can't even get a date on an ordered Ascent out of them right now so info on a 23 BRZ/86 is right out of the picture. The industry is a bloody mess!

JIT manufacturing works great until it doesn't, then you wish you had a stockpile of parts sitting in a warehouse.

The biggest issue we have is that getting the parts for the parts for the machines that make the parts for the parts is screwed up. When people hear "parts shortage" they have to forget the finished product since the shortages go back all the way to the raw materials.

Spoke to a new dealership about putting a deposit down, I was told I'd be second on the list for an 86. Unfortunately that doesn't really help because the dealer just received the allocations for their area and there's 3 Premium MT GR86's for 72 dealerships. The rest of the cars are AT base/premiums, and a couple base MT mixed in. Supplies are low, but MT, Premiums especially, are all but non existent.
