CEL code P0172
Okay, so yesterday I started my car up after work and I got a cel. I pulled the codes this morning and I am getting code P0172 and another code. I forgot to write the other code down and I am at work right now, so I will get the other code this evening to help diagnose the issue(s) (hopefully it's related).
The filter is almost brand new, with less than 1500 miles on it. It's part of my AEM Intake setup. Only other engine mode I have is a header-back exhaust (Invidia catted front pipe and FT86SF V2 cat-back). I have had the catback part of the exhaust on there for about 2 months now, while the front pipe has only been on for about a month. Unless an O2 sensor has gone bad, I can't see the exhaust causing an issue. Any ideas? |

Bolted everything on, but if anything, the intake should result in >= airflow, and I can't imagine the exhaust would make the car run rich enough to warrant a CEL. Plus, it's been over a month since the last bit of exhaust work. If that was the culprit, wouldn't I have seen a CEL sooner? Regardless, a tune is in the works, so yea... Should I just wait for the tune and not worry about it?

i would go through a process of finding out the problem first put the stock intake on see if it comes back on then switch it back, disconnect the battery restart the system, make sure everything else is on right etc etc, but ya its odd that its running rich i would understand lean more than rich? if not when they tune im sure when they plug it in they will see whats going on? just my opinion

In teh end, the stock intake is probably better anyway, so might as well throw it on and see what happens. I'll do that this evening after work. thanks. =)
EDIT: It will probably be a few months before a tune is in order. At least it's running rich and not lean, so it's not really hurting anything. |

Hope this helps. From what I have seen, that code is coming up for people with an aftermarket intake. |
