Yes. You can get Mazda's S plan. I think SCCA is also working with Mazda to get E plan pricing, which is 4% below invoice, for a certain period of time. Let's see if they can pull that one off.

Changing characteristic of braking is another thing, but maintaining main initial bite is important.
I autox'ed for 4 years and won my class in South Carolina in 2001, so I'm not an autox n00b. I never went to nationals which I know is faster, still have a difficult time seeing brake systems building up excess heat.

But I guess application/experience may vary!

So you're saying you can take home a trophy with stock 86/BRZ brakes pads? Cuz if that's the case, I would love to learn few driving skills from you.

Haha, I would say it was a weak class. My stiffest competition was an Impreza 2.5 RS. (that's not to say they're a bad autox car - far from it)

I was using Porterfield R4-S pads, but not really for any reason. I was just a dumb kid then, running stock fluid. Never ever flushed the brake fluid. Either way never experienced fade or overheating with the GS-R - brakes or otherwise.

"Raspy and perfect, and the Mopar version sounds like it’s inhabited by some minor fire-breathing demon". "this is the baby-making music of the gods. Blow-off valve included." That got my attention and probably makes that car my leading prospect... (unless my 6'2" frame doesn't fit good in it).
I watched the video of the Abarth revving that was hosted on Jalopnik. The one the writer went crazy for. Personally I didn't/don't get it - it didn't sound very good at all IMO. And the quad exhaust pipes just scream tacky IMO. And I say this as someone that does consider some 4 cylinder engines as sounding good.

iirc GR-S weight +-2,600lbs in decent temp weather (80's~90's) in NC... not really convincing here. While +-2,800lbs with decently high (100~120) in dessert isn't what you call apple to apple comparison lol

Specially in SoCal, brake will roast quickly.

Sounds convincing to me. If it were gonna be 100°+ the day of an Autox I'd say screw that and bail, haha.

(but don't forget how tiny my car's brakes are, lol)

you're right! also they fail to mention the Abarth they were revving is a european model. The American model is different, and no confirmation that it will come with the quads either. No real press release on that part, just say we're getting and Eleboration of the Abarth. They're going crazy over nothing imho. Unfortunately too... it's only a matter of time before that Fiat stop making noise at all, the multi air isn't the greatest thing since slice bread.

It looks to be a wing now, not a spoiler. They are different because wings and spoilers have different aerodynamic functions.
I like it. As Gray showed the air is attached at the rear of the car, and even the old BRZ premium spoiler redirected the airflow upward at the rear likely reducing lift at the rear. Their press release said the new "wing" increases rear down-force, so I'm just hoping it uses the same bold holes at the old spoiler so I can retrofit it.

Gross oversimplification. You need to be already registered with Mazdaspeed Motorsports and already in the driver development program already racing a Mazda vehicle with livery at least two times a year in sanctioned racing events. Ask me how I know. (Don't ask. I know because I've been doing it since 2002)

edit: You also get parts at cost, and full access to the Mazdaspeed catalog with support from Mazdaspeed.

Alright guys, so Id figured the best way to help give information is to actually get a Zenki BRZ owner into the new BRZ to give impressions. We also go over the question you guys asked about the Steering wheel @krayzie

Here is an Interior overview

and lastly a small vid of the dash screen
