It is not advisable to install headers without a tune. May be okay, may be not. I wouldn't take that risk.

But I woke up to a tracking number today. Supposed to arrive Friday, so that'd put me at the 11'ish day mark.

Thanks for the link.

I got the STi motor and transmission mounts installed last week. The JDL overpipe is still making contact with the front subframe on the passenger side. The banging is not as loud, but it is definitely still happening.

Here is the point where it is making contact:

I am not sure what to try next. It seems no one else with this header and overpipe has encountered this issue. Maybe I could try stiffer exhaust hangers? I am not sure if this would help though, there is very little clearance between the overpipe and the subframe.

Would you guys contact JDL? I am concerned I may have either a header or overpipe with defective fitment.

Garage
The garage that did mine mounted it a bit with an offset to give it more clearance

I would contact them. I had a fitment issue with the flanges not aligning to the head studs properly. They sent a replacement.

No issues here with my JDL 4-2-1 EL and the ISR overpipe. Stock engine mounts.

JDL got back to me right away! They will be sending out a new overpipe. Hopefully this one resolves the issue.

I had very limited dealings with them when I purchased my header and FP/OP, but those dealings were very pleasant.

JDL 4-2-1 EL header

Here's my VirtualDyno run on a flat road in my BRZ.
My setup is a JDL 4-2-1, stock FP and OP, OnPoint Dyno dyno tune on 94 Octane. Car weighs in at 2945lbs with me in it and a basically full tank (verified from a corner balance in its current state). This run had about a 3/4 tank of fuel so I adjusted my weight based on fuel density vs fuel load accordingly.

Man you sniped me RIGHT before I saw the issue while reviewing my post lolol. Weights fixed. Mine are also from a recent corner balancing sessions so they are accurate and adjusted for fuel. Could you delete the quoted vdyno so people don't get confused?

Dynos of Blub. E85, Delicious tune, Perrin intake, custom 2.5" exhaust and 2.5" metal core cat on both headers.
OEM is 91 pump gas and 100% unmodified.
Ace350 had a torque bump between 3000-3500.
JDL had a bunch more power past 7100.
Both eliminated torque canyon of OEM.

We sold the Ace and run the JDL now. Testing Crawford BPB but so far no power area gain. We'll play with the tune a bit. If no power gains we'll remove the BPB.
