No you won't.

Like dead as in nothing but one tiny light was lit up on the dash, super dead.
Is that normal for this car? Usually the lights will go off after a few minutes inside but I never thought about whether the trunk light will do that.
I never had a car battery drain like this. The trunk is hard to see if it's shut fully on this car so I guess it was bound to happen but on a newish(1.5 yr old, not sure how
much that converts to in Canadian years) battery just running that trunk light, that seems kind of odd.
I got into an accident the day before Thanksgiving. I was rear ended, this left my trunk unable to close leaving my trunk light on. My battery drained and I wasn't able to start it without a jump. I didn't think of jumping it cause I didn't know it caused it. I assumed the accident caused my car not to start.

The car has some problems. And I, too, faced a problem like yours. The light bulb in the trunk discharged my battery to zero. I found out that it was just a bad bulb installed, and it will always drain the battery that way. But I found a solution to the problem. I purchased a LED light at https://www.amazon.com/Vont-Hurrican.../dp/B00NPLSZF8 , and it is an indispensable thing in my trunk. And plus my battery does not interact in any way and I am calm. The moral is, if you are using bulbs, it is better to check them 100 times before installing them in your car. But I won't trade my light for any cool bulb.

Canadian battery shelf life years may be indeed shorter since 1 of the battery's biggest enemies is (extreme) cold/heat.

I can no longer recall but the stock battery has just "adequate" Reserve Capacity, Amp Hour, & C20 (battery features explained here: https://www.autobatteries.com/en-us/...ement/overview ) & can easily be drained by halogen bulbs such as that in the trunk or map light.

If you still have halogen lights in critical areas such as trunk, map, vanity, door, etc. it's best to switch to LED to reduce the battery drainage & overall power consumption. A 194 halogen bulb in the trunk is about 5 watts whereas a brighter LED only consumes 1w.
