That’s my only claim to platinum (I think they’ve gone platinum?) fame by one degree of separation.
Wouldn't that be 2 degrees of separation? You to your siblings and then your siblings to him?

Well I can beat that. My wife used to work for Hammond Organ Studios in Toronto. Her boss was manager for a band called Rhinegold. We used to follow them all over southern Ontario. The lead singer, Larry, was under age so they had to sneak him in and out of the licensed clubs. The night he turned 18, (legal age in Ontario back in 1974) he spent the night with us at our table between sets. What's the big deal you ask? Larry is better known by his last name, GOWAN! We knew back then he was going to be a star.

I've been listening on and off to the "Modern Punk" "radio" on Apple music lately to find more recent stuff I can listen to and these came up a week or so back, so I saved 'em. I still prefer older stuff but these aren't too bad.

I've been a huge fan of the West Coast (commonly referred to as "yacht rock") genre, for much of my adult life. It's a dying breed, but there really are some gems out there. Here's a relatively new one, just released last year by a Swede. If you're a fan of the David Foster-produced Chicago albums 16, 17, 18, 19, or anything with Jay Graydon playing or producing, you should give this song a listen.

Viktor Jakob-Johnsson - A Little Denial

Nights In White Satin was actually one of the last songs that I sang at open mic night before this whole Corona shit storm happened and all live bands were shut down. I can sing that song and you wouldn't be able to tell that it wasn't Justin Hayward.
