The reused a section of music between two songs once iirc.

Also they are generic rock so normally appeal lot of Kens and Karens, so if somebody with an opinion says Nickelback is bad then they take it and spread it like wildfire.

Spuds, dig yourself out of the dirt your musical history knowledge seems to be buried in. Nickelback has been around for 25 years whereas the terms Karens and Kens is a recent construct of social media. (As in, considered to be subjective and not based on empirical evidence.) Nickelback is one of the most commercially successful rock bands of the last 20 years, Canadian or otherwise. Some people can't stand others that are good at things that they themselves suck at. Haters gonna hate!
Yes, I'm a BIG Nickelback fan and I'm far from any Ken you may know or have seen in a meme!! I also have retained more then the average amount of musical knowledge over my lifetime. I don't have to be told what's good or what's bad by some print rag, e-zine or on-line forum. I have a very eclectic taste from Lee Aaron to Zappacosta. (Yes I could have said ABBA to Zappa but I was keeping it Canadian, eh!)

I'm not entirely sure what you think I meant, but the intent was that a lot of people who publicly don't like them might still enjoy the music if it weren't so popular to dislike them.

I personally think Nickelback is fine. I'm not going to go out of my way to listen to them, but I have a few songs in my playlist from time to time.

One of my favorite old school (90's) rock bands, Jimmy Eat World, just did their first of three "concert" streams. Today's was their latest album, from last year. The next two will be their most popular albums. Just finished watching/listening to it.

It was such a legit production. They filmed in some kind of warehouse-looking venue with a totally fancy setup.

So stoked for the next two.

MomHawk, who is a Pentatonix fangirl, had this on this morning. I had not heard it before. Sorry Simon and Garfunkel you just fell to third with this.

Funny story. The guy who used to be in that group at the beginning, Avi, went to the same Jewish summer camp that I did. I was a few years removed from when he went but both my older brother and older sister knew him at the time.

That’s my only claim to platinum (I think they’ve gone platinum?) fame by one degree of separation.

My Mom loves that shit. I usually roll my eyes (because she go nuts with the XMAS music though they are very talented) but that Sound of Silence one is pretty good actually.
