ModBargains.com | Winner Winner: Two Modification Experts Two 1st Place Trophies
Saturday May 31, 2014, Extreme Autofest brought out all kinds of enthusiasts including ModBargains very own modification experts Alan Wei and Jurrian Terpstra. Located in the parking lot of Angels Stadium in Anaheim hundreds of cars ranging from classic low rider, to modern super cars joined together to celebrate their mutual love of modifying cars. In association with Europrojektz Alan and Jurrian brought their 2008 Jet Black E92 335i, and 2013 Mustang GT respectfully to show off the time and effort they have put in to date on their project show cars. Both Alan and Jurrian brought home first place finishes in Best BMW and Best American Muscle. Alan, having owned his 2008 E92 335i since he first drove it off the lot brand new in 2008 has spent countless hours modifying to always have it as close to his idea of perfection as possible. Most people buy new wheels maybe a suspension and then stop modifying, not Alan. When Alan first got the car he wasted no time, “Yes, as she was, she was a beautiful beast, but as I drove her home, my mind was already racing to redline with all the thoughts of how I could truly make her an extension of myself,” Alan said. The first mods were moderate but necessary, the first thing that had to go was the front license plate bracket, then he installed body matched painted reflectors, matte black grilles, and GP Thunder 7500k H8 hyper white bulbs in both angel eyes and fog lights. After these few mods, Alan knew that, “what started off as a daily driver, soon evolved into a full on show/street car that is all go and show!” Alan always knew that he wanted his car to stand out but in the right way. “I always wanted my BMW E92 335i to maintain a classy, subtle-yet-modified look,” said Alan. From its humble beginnings to now, a full on show car with every bolt on mod you can imagine, beautiful custom interior, and now dropped down real low with his Airrex full suspension Alan’s E92 has been turning heads and winning trophies for years. It is hard to think that there is anything left to do on his car but when you get him talking about it you realize his vision is far from done. “It has gained a lot of respect locally and has been featured on Canibeat three times,” said Alan. “I have a whole lot more planned for the car which includes a few more performance and aesthetic changes. I have an absolute passion and live the lifestyle and have the dedication with which I pursue customization to the fullest!” For a full list of Alan’s mods please scroll to the bottom of this post. Jurrian, an avid BMW owner, decided to trade in the white and blue roundel for the chrome pony on the then brand new 2013 Mustang GT. When asked what made him make such a drastic change, he replied, “power, the amount of horsepower that came stock in that car was unbelievable, plus I saw the opportunity to take a car and modify it in a way that no one else was doing.” Jurrian had his mustang for a month or so before he started modifying it. As with all his other cars tint, suspension, exhaust and wheels were first, Jurrian equipped his Mustang with KW Variant 3 Coilovers, Flowmaster Outlaw Exhaust and some 20 inch Forgestar CF10s in Black Graphite. After that Jurrian did not touch his car for almost a year, but he made up for lost time by going with a Full Wide Body Kit from APR, and wrap from Impressive Wrap in El Monte. Shortly after undertaking a 3 month aesthetic overhaul Jurrian wasted no time on the performance mods and threw in a Vortech V-3 Si Supercharger System, with pump gas he now has 600 raging ponies with more on the way. Of course after adding almost 2 inches to either side of his car, some new wheels were a must. Who else to go to when you have a custom made Mustang but back to Forgestar to get a set of their new made to order 20×10.5 Fronts and 20×12 Rears Super Deep Concave F14s in Semi – Gloss Black. Jurrian knows that his journey to make is mustang a full on show car is far from over but would like to thank those who have helped in so far and those who will be helping him in the near future, “I’d like to thank all the sponsors who helped to make this happen. I’d like to thank Forgestar for the gorgeous 20″ Super deep wheels, APR Performance for the sleek Widebody, Vortech for turning this Mustang into an absolute beast, and in the very near future I will also be thanking Sparco for the fantastic Pro-ADV seats that will be making it’s way into the car.”For a full list of Jurrian’s mods please scroll down to the bottom of this post.
