Stg 2 definitely require 5mm spacers with 17x9 ET35 RPF1's. Anything less will not clear.

So very tempted to pick up the stage 2 front kit. Anyone have any personal reviews they'd like to share - specifically for the track?

Reading through this thread, it also seems like 17x9 +35 TC105N's should clear the stage 2 kit...anyone know for sure?

What is your car setup that you need such extreme brakes?

We are running the Stoptech ST-40 on our Spec86 Cup car doing WtoW and Enduros and haven't seen a need or brake bias issue with it yet.

The opportunity to have both front and rear brakes makes the decision harder between this and Essex Sprint.

I'll share a little information that might help people with their brake pad decision. First I would not use the Wilwood to Hawk brake compound comparison chart as a clear indicator of brake friction. The shear brake power and torque with the full RR kit on BP30 I run is stronger than DTC 70 Brembo setup I had. Pad surface area, rotor diameters, piston area, and rotor friction all come into play.

The BP30 on this kit should be reserved for racing slicks and even then requires significant brake pedal control. If you are a time attacker you have to work the pads up to temp on your pace lap not because they require heat to work but because you need to get the rear pads up to temp for better balance.

The BP30 on a Hankook RS3 is too much so the driver spends a lot of time preventing abs or lock up due to how little pedal pressure is required. You can use them but it's overkill and requires more work for the driver.

I can't imagine anyone, given my level, would need more friction than a BP30 in this kit. I think the go to pad will be the BP20 for most and if either is pushed to extreme temps I would work on ducting instead. I honestly may drop down to a BP20 just so I can use more pedal pressure for easier modulation.

The reason to choose this kit over another is that we altered the oem brake balance for better performance and the brake pads are way cheaper and thicker than what's used in the Brembo or Stoptech kits (AP does use thick pads also).

Current aero setup on our FRS running custom BC ZR 3 way adjustable coilovers, 305 Hoosier S80 non DOT slick, Whiteline front sway bar, Whiteline rear chassis and diff bushings, and Perrin PSR kit.

I notice the stage 1 and 2 front kits use OEM STi rotors but the only available rear kit uses your 2 piece rotors. Is this because there is no suitable rotor for the rears except yours or another reason?

Exactly, 13" is the ideal size to complement the fronts, and I do not know of any compatible 13" one piece rotors that will retain parking brake functionality.

Hi Mike, we totally respect the ST40 kit, but we also firmly believe that out Stage 4 kit is a level up from the ST40, at a similar price point. Advantages include:

1) 330x32mm Coleman Racing Winston Cup race proven rotors vs 328x28 ST40's
2) The Wilwood Forged Superlite calipers we use are race worthy calipers, use easy to source 0.8" thick track pads, internal seals, anodized vs powder coated, and we can supply in either 6 or 4 piston configurations depending on race series rules.
3) ST40 pads are thinner at 0.65" vs Wilwood 0.8" thick pads we use on stage 2 & 4 kits.
4) Comparison of typical pad cost: Hawk DTC30 for ST40 about $200, For Wilwood Forged calipers $138.
5) 100% made in USA.

Also, for those on a tighter budget, they have the option of starting off with a stage 1 or 2 kit, and upgrading to 2 piece floating competition rotors at any time.

Installed my Stage 1 Kit today. Everything functioned and went together as it should.

Great service and product for an international customer - I highly recommend these guys. Good to deal with, straight shooters and fantastic customer service.

Some confirmations:

1. Stage 1 kit will definitely clear RPF-1 17x9 +35 (And the less common Desmond Regamaster 17x8 +35).
2. Quality of the kit and assembly is first class.
3. We in the metric part of the world need to have a few SAE tools handy when doing this fit-up.
4. No cutting of dust shields or any other modifications to existing parts are required.
