I don’t think you will notice a big difference, but your car might feel like it has a little more zip. It would be interesting to see dyno result differences between 91 and 93. It’s probably just a few HP difference. I always try to fill 93 octane just to be safe, and we get some really hot temperatures here, so knock resistance is important. The DI fuel pump also seems to like better fuel.

Yes. It will take a few miles after the fill for the ECU to re-calibrate but it's noticeable.

It takes the ECU about 50 to 100 miles to adjust for the change so no immediate effect. The slight improvement may help for autoX but will make hardly any difference on the road.

I noticed tip in knock when I ran a tank of shell 91 after running 94 for a year straight. Hot day on a downshift going into a corner.
Probably wouldn't be an issue if you constantly ran 91, but the engine is happiest with the recommended octane.
I've tossed 91 in the tank when I made a trip and will burn the entire tank while on cruise control. Didn't notice much of any difference in fuel economy in that situation.

The differences In cost is negligible, it's more a PITA needing to know what stations offer it.

This thread covers it pretty well
