Mine seemed to be worse about it when I fist got it. But yeah, it was/is noticeably bad about closing on me, even on level surfaces -- and I grew up with nothing but two-door cars like Camaros and Trans Ams.
I swear I've even held the door open for a second, just to make sure it's in a detent and then slowly let go of it and had it try to eat me as soon as I swung a leg out. As a result, my door and door sill have all kinds of scuff marks. I'm glad you brought it up, OP, cause I thought I was just being silly complaining about the door not staying open, lol. |

Door won't stay open?
My door seems to be fine.. O.O as long as I'm not trying to fight gravity.
If you open the door all the way out that is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one that has this problem! It seems most annoying when I hold the door open to make sure it will stay open and then literally out of no where it slams shut.
My mother even commented on it the other day when I had my door completely open and it stayed open for a good 30 seconds.. NO one was near the door, Not the SLIGHTEST bit of wind. NOTHING could have closed the door and slam, it shut. Like all you guys have said it sucks most when you are most unexpectedly getting something out of the passenger seat while having your leg out the door to get out and WHAM right in the shin. |

I went out in the garage and opened both doors all the way on my 2013 FRS. They stayed open even when I stood up on the running board. My conclusion is, that some of you folks have unbalanced cars due to too many mods ...... humfrz |

So just had the door problem bite me hard earlier. Opened the door and the mementum caught, it swung wide and scratched the ford explorer next to me. Luckily the ford looked like it had never been washed in 20 years and there were worse scratches surrounding it, but still (

All of my Toyotas have done it.
I have gotten so used to the door closing on my shin, I hardly notice any more. It reminds me of a refrigerator door. It's as if they specify the angle of the door hinges for all of their cars must be the same (slightly tilted back from vertical??) |
