Rim of The World Highway (HWY18) Cruise

Hello SoCal FT86 Club owners, It's official! Rim of The World Canyon Run will be September 21st. After several attempts to organize this event it finally happened. I will be at the Irvine meet this Tuesday August 27th passing this exact flyer out.

We are expecting to have well over 35+ FRS/BRZ. We will also have to classes within this event, Beginner and Experience. What differs from these two groups is that the beginner will be meant for people whom just want to enjoy a cruise up to big bear through the back roads (HWY18) and or don't have experience with canyons. Experience will be meant for people who have their vehicles modded with experience on the track or canyon trips. Each group will have two cars A Chase Car and a Follower.

At the meeting location in the morning I will be passing out directions to those attending of the route we will be taking in case you become separated from the group along with my number.

We will possibly be having a few bikes with Go Pros filming are way up and possibly back down.

If I have tagged you in this thread, You have either attend Palms to Pines or have showed interest in this Event a while back. Spread the word. If anyone would like flyers please let me know so I can have more made. I only have approximately 100 made at this point. If needed I will have another 100 made for you guys to pass out.

Now that we have the date, meeting spot, and route; all you gotta do is mark that day on your calendar and be waiting at the Parking lot at Starbucks.

09/06/2013
Hey guys and gals, hope everyone enjoyed their Labor Day weekend! I just updated the thread with the route we will be taking. The whole route its self will be 102 miles approximately 2 hours and 45 min of driving for the beginner class. We will be stopping by at the B points in the map to take photographs of cars and people and use these locations as meeting spots. One of the location will be Rim of the World High School. Although school session just started we will not be able to use their lot as I hopped when I was organizing this. but we will be able to use this as a general location as a meet if anyone gets lost or needs to keep up.

See you guys soon, Take Care!

If dates conflict we many owners we can always move it to July! Trying to accommodate as many people as I can. I know a week after June 2 is the Vegas Trip for a lot of people and I know some would like to start prepping their cars for that along with saving some money.

Yeah with it being back to back with the vegas trip I may have to opt out in favor of vegas. Ill see how things are panning out and let you know when it gets closer to thag timeframe but I know for me id put a priority on vegas. But things can change so you never know. Ill just keep you updated.

Im with you on the Vegas. If only I was at the age to enjoy Vegas to the fullest lol. What we can do we can move the date for everyone a month or two down. I'm Trying to get as many as people as I can. Hopefully @robispec can join along with his fellow FRS/BRZ friends on this one!

Yes I can't wait either... After speaking with members at the Irvine meet last night, most of them will be going to Vegas the following week, so they have asked to move the date a month or so down.

You planned out a great drive with the Palms to Pines so this should be good times too. I can't plan more than a few days out so just name your date and I'll do my best to keep that day clear. I wonder if we could get a police escort to clear the roads ahead of us...hmm...
