CSG Spec Tein Flex A Owners Thread

Just installed my (second-hand) set of CSG-spec Flex-As. I've been eyeing these for a while and got a great deal on a lightly-used set. I'm going for an OEM+ daily and light track build, so Tein was an obvious choice. The facts that these are serviceable, spec'd by a reputable contributor to the community, and EDFC-compatible were the main reasons I wanted these over other offerings.

AlI can say is, "Wow." These are by far the best set of coilovers I've ever driven on. I'm not nearly as capable of performing similar testing as the OP, but if my butt shock Dyno is any indicator, I'm in for a great ride.

~18K. I'll be sending them in for TeinUSA service after another 17K. I'm a few months out from heading on a year-long military tour without my car, so getting them for less made sense despite having to service them earlier (mileage-wise) than first-hand. More savings for the custom wheels and other goodies she'll be gifted while I'm gone.

Got my csg spec coils on today need to get em settled and then alignment but the car already handles like it’s on rails. The pilot sport 4s tires did not hurt haha

Well done to OP on the analysis. Love my CSG exhaust for a shameless plug. Really happy with it, but it is not a damper. Surprised to see a report of a softer feel than stock, but like that.

Anyone have the EDFC system installed, just curious. And, where do you put it? Wait, my phone is now too big for the tiny cubby under the HVAC controls. Does it fit there? Haven't read all 30 pages just yet.

If you think they feel good now wait until you get the alignment. I got them almost spot on by myself but just reducing rear camber and correcting rear toe by the alignment shop made a HUGE difference. day and night difference.

Installed and aligned about a month ago and so far these are everything they are touted to be. Also want to thank CSG again for their great customer service as I was in the midst of moving as these were in the process of navigating their way through customs.

So back then I ended up buying Racer X end links and they worked fine for a while.
After about a year of usage, RXes started to develop some play, which I believe is normal for this types of joints.
The SPLs also seem to have the same type of joints.

I don't really care about having the stiffest joints on my sway bar end links.
I'm perfectly fine with OEM-style joints, as long as the link is

1. low profile enough to avoid contacts with the chassis
2. reasonably adjustable so I can make sure there's no preload
   and the geometry is correct at ride height
   (ideally, they should extend all the way to OEM length)

Any recommendations?

I recently put the OEM front end links back while investigating an unrelated issue.
The angle between the OEM end links and the line between the roll bar pivot point and the attachment point of the end link looks ~75–80º, not 90º.

Fine print: this is judging by the photo I took of the front right end link at ride height when the steering wheel was turned slightly to the left in order to be able to take a photo of the end link with my phone. Also, my ride height might be slightly higher than the recommended settings, but not by a lot.

Given the issue I'm having with interference with the chassis, personally I'd prefer the coilovers to have such a location for the end link attachment point that would eliminate the risk of contacting the chassis; or if it was very clearly documented that aftermarket end links are strongly recommended. I'm glad I don't live in a climate where rust is a major issue — it took me a few months to realize that I have a hole in the paint there, otherwise I'd probably be pretty unhappy with that discovery :P

Neither. I do understand that I could add camber bolts and dial out the camber with top hats, but generally I'd prefer to avoid camber bolts unless absolutely necessary.

You should not be having chassis interference in that case, unless perhaps your front subframe is uncentered.

Use camber bolts to shift the knuckle as needed to get desired camber without interferance.

The chassis interference is pretty even on both left and right sides.
