Be thankful it was released. It was in serious jeopardy.
It is heavier and will be more expensive.
Heavier.
More expensive.
Uglier.

Yea, I like the "bomb bay" door configuration of the console. If someone made an aftermarket one for the FRS that worked that way I would buy it.

You are right though, those cupholders look useless for anyone in the front. I barely can use the front one now without wrenching my shoulder.

Okay, I gotta have this console. Does anyone have the part numbers and will it fit in a 2017?

That is how I felt about my Datsun 280Z. The next closest is my current toy, the MR2 Spyder but it sits so low that is harder to get in and out of. Of course, I was 40 years younger when I had the Z.

The shape looks great to me. The rear end almost has a Supra-like muscularity. As TheDonEffect mentioned, the torque curve also appears flat. From peak TQ at 3,700 rpm (184 lbs-ft), it maintains 93% of that to 7,000 rpm (171 lbs-ft). I’m also happy to see a 7,500 rpm redline. Can’t wait to drive one.

There is still a dip exactly where the old one was it just isn't as pronounced. Probably a 4% drop in torque for a 1/10th of a second instead of a 10% one.

Not sure that a car with rear wheel steering should have that much smoke in the curve.

Looks like d4s stays. Hopefully it'll be a simple enough swap.

I can't handle the pervy grin from that front end.. Toyota needs to redeem this.
