"Toyota and Subaru disclosed in June this year that they have agreed to jointly develop a platform dedicated to battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and to jointly develop a BEV model, both of which will employ Subaru's AWD technologies and Toyota's vehicle electrification technologies."

Agreed! All the click bait sites that reword the above official release to read as they wish will get dumped into this thread now. I think, and this is only my personal opinion, that it was a mistake to lock the old thread. However, I understand that was not my call to make.
Speaking of the old thread, was that link to the flat six sounding BRZ for real or was it a joke that went over my head? The youtube vid it points to is Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up".

and don’t forget “MSRP Starting at $25,000”

How funny would it be to stuff a V12 in the 86?! It would probably tip forward like a see saw. And change weight distribution from near 50/50 to 80/20. Still totally worth it.

They did. Those of us that actually read the real news would have seen it.
It is the future whether we like it or not.

I didn’t click on the link, that would be cruel to hear ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ instead of a prototype 86 with a flat 6.

My problem with electric cars has been lack of charging infrastructure where I live (Canada as a whole really) , uninteresting electric cars (They're either ugly econoboxes, or expensive luxury cars), or just too damned expensive (The go to argument for pro electric owners are "get a tesla it fits all your needs!....sure......if I could afford to spend 60-80,000 right now.....).

But my attention right now with electric cars is the Volkswagen ID Buzz. Good ol Hippie Van just for the cool factor!

One can only hope. Would be a more sensible option than the MR2.

Anybody under the age of about 40 might as well get used to the idea of electric cars. It is GOING to happen and happen fast. The infrastructure will appear as the demand increases.
Don't believe me? How about Akio Toyoda
