Nice! At this time I do not plan to replace them. I drove a friends racecar with lexan and I hated the way it shook. It made it really hard to see clearly. This is present me talking though. Future me may install lexan. Especially if I break another windshield.

I guess you get to a point with weight reduction where some compromises go out the window(pun intended).

My latest obsession is learning how to wrap a car. I bought some carbon fiber wrap and did the roof. This is my second attempt and I think it came out pretty good. I have a few air bubbles that I need to deflate and I stretched the material too much in a few spots but otherwise I am pretty happy with it. I was told the brand I chose and textured wraps are the hardest to work with. Going to wrap my Nissan D21 next. Then the FRS.

All done for track events for 2019. After Watkins Glen last weekend, I totaled 2200 track miles this year with no issues other than a coil pack.

My last thing on my 2019 to do list it to get my 19 year old brother in the driver seat at a small local track for some coaching before the 2020 modifications start.

In the meantime I removed the last two airbags and airbag module along with a bunch of airbag sensors and few other small parts. The total was 13lbs.

I was persuaded (rather easily) to do one more track day at my local test track Pineview Run. I had already started on some winter projects, wrapping my headlights and block-off plates for the blinker assembly, so I quickly put the car back together. I think this is going to look really good once the car is wrapped.

what did you do for the side markers? I guess you aren't street legal anymore?

Yes. I took it off the road. It is now for track use only. TBH, I haven't really ever enjoyed the car on the road so doing this doesn't hurt too much.

I think you meant the blinkers? Obviously I don't need those anymore.

If you meant the side markers, I removed them after last years accident ripped the wires off the car. They would fall out randomly on track anyway and I didn't want to pay for new ones.

yeah, those stupid side markers that fall out. I think it wouldn't be that hard to make some aluminum "blanks" that would fill in the gap. The only thing I would miss if I took it off the streets would be the mountain runs.

I have been designing a Verus engineering based splitter with Professional Awesome diffusers using Alumalite. Here is what I have so far. I have an idea for some extra support. I will update with pics soon.

This shows the difference between the Verus unit and mine. I added 1.5" to the sides to help feed the diffusers.

Here is the splitter with the diffusers. The diffusers are angled for a slightly increased downforce gain and also because there is not a lot of room for them in front of the wheel.

More on the new alumalite splitter. Right now it is at the same height as the verus unit. I am planning on lowering it another .5" to start.

Nice view of the new Professional Awesome diffusers

Fully installed pic

I added an extra brace in the back of the splitter. This was a piece of 1" aluminum square tube mounted via rivet nuts to 2 existing holes below the rad.

Verus splitter weights 12lbs

New bigger splitter with diffusers only weighs 8!

Quick wrap teaser. Not quite up to my perfectionist standards but I am getting better with every panel.
