Good catch! Completely missed that myself.

I build case airflow with your method and I am an aeronautical engineer so...

You need to evacuate hot air to allow more cold air into the case. Think of fans as a battery and the case as a circuit. If you have two batteries facing each other (+ to + and - to -) in a circuit, you aren't going to get a whole lot of current, which means you aren't getting any power out of it.

Not helpful, a little relevant but not really. Maybe.

I haven't used case fans in my last 2 computers. I have a largish cpu cooler with 140mm fan, the gpu looks after itself and the side panel remains off at all times. The cpu fan blows out the back where I have cut the grill/mesh from the case.

If things get a little warm during summer I have a house fan blowing into the case.
I regularly de-dust, it's nice and quiet. Works for me.

Well, without a case side I don't imagine you are restricting flow a whole bunch. I'm sure it works fine if you don't have to worry about anything getting in there.

Out of curiosity, would it make a difference in terms of heat management if the front fans were being used to bring air in, while the rear was evacuating it? I.e. reversing the layout I have?

Your front fans are bringing air in to the case in the last pictures you sent.

that was partly what my comment was about the style of side panel in his case selection. without the side panel, i completely agree!

this weekend's project was getting 9 network cables ran to the constant devices(network a/v receivers, tv's, computers) to try to eliminate oddball wifi connection issues.

my tv and receiver will both randomly decide to not work, despite the computers and phones on the same wifi saying everything is fine...

and a picture of my wonderful rack at phase 1:

Is that a sewer line above the electronics.........?????

Would hate to be the guy who had to replace that if the line leaks.
