Mach- V Awesome wheels

I just put these on my car today. They are 17x9 with 42 offset. The tires are 255/40. I am on Tanabe racing springs with about a 1 inch drop. Before I got them, I tried to do as much research as I could because I was afraid they would rub. After install, I turned the front wheel as far as it would go and it very lightly rubs on a small part of the rear plastic cover. Nothing really to worry about at this point. Has anyone else had much experience with these wheels and tires this meaty?

They are light. They come in at 17.8 pounds a wheel. For a 17x9 wheel that is pretty good.

5mm spacer and call it day to avoid rub. It's because your offset makes it sit in further. Had no issues with my 255/40s on 17x9+35s w/ lowering.

I'm running the exact same set up. 255 40 17 Federal RSR daily. No problems at all. I'm dropped about 1.5 i have no wheel gap, when dropping the natural rear negative camber takes care of my rear rubbing. I see you got a tune from bob too!

Im on the fence on these wheels myself. Only thing stopping me from buying them is the front clearance. I'm on eibach pro kit and afraid of the rub. Anyone know if all I need is the 5mm spacer upfront and that would solve my worries?

Depends on the tire i think. If you're running a 255/40 in a ZII/RS3/RE11/RE71/Rivall or similar, you will probably rub.

Now if you're opting for a slimmer "255", then you can squeeze by..

But the moment you want to introduce any kind of additional camber via bolts, you'll be SOL.

I kinda fucked up and thought I could squeeze by with NT01s and bolts. After measuring, it really wasn't going to happen. I have Velox camber plates on order, and the camber bolts I have will be used to add any positive camber to get everything to fit.

Get 245/40 If you don't want a headache... Unless you need it for hpde, theres no real benefit to stuffing a 255 on there anyways.

Just coilovers, i dont even have rear LCA, just the natural camber from the drop clears everything on my car. just took it to alignment and its it.
No rub or anything in the back. the front i have top hats so those are just cambered enough to clear and for street driving atm.

Yeah I agree with the others. I got lucky with the tires I have and them not rubbing. I happened to buy these wheels with the tires already on them. I inspected the tires and noticed the edges were less aggressive than other tires so I gave them a try. If it were any other tires, they would have rubbed. Save yourself some worry and get 245/40's.

Wheels and paint go together great.

I am relieved you have all those stickers, I wasn't sure where you lived or what kind of parts you have on your car; now I know.
