Cop B was having a bad day because he only had 12hrs to come up with money that he owed to the Yakuza. As a result, subject A will likely go to jail forever for his street racing shenanigans. Subject A should pull his 401k and flee the country. Someplace warm. Hypothetically speaking of course.

Plot twist: OP is Person A.

Serious note: Just pay the damn ticket. If you know you were in the wrong, then why even try to fight it? Is having the integrity to own up to your own decisions really that much of a big deal? If it is, don't speed.

This is, of course, directed to this hypothetical "Person A" you're referring to in your argument.

It very possible, but im unsure if I am Person A.

Also, Person A knows they are wrong, but wanted to explore possible avenues to reduce he impact on insurance. No harm there.

When you just pay without fighting you eliminate any opportunity to have the ticket reduced or turned into a non-moving violation. I still believe in having to PAY if you're in the wrong but the points that increase your insurance and such.... that's another story.

The only reason I fight tickets is to lower or do away with the points. I believe in paying for my mistakes but here in the good ol' USA with our artificially low speed limits... I don't think that I should have points on my license marking me as a callous or bad driver just because I'm more comfortable and focused at 80 than I am at 65.

Come to think of it, I think every driver on the road is more focused at higher average speeds. Then again, that could be relative.

Edit: Also, keep in mind. Unless YOU are summoned to court and HAVE to appear in person A traffic lawyer will go in your place and fight the ticket on your behalf. In addition to this, most lawyers will postpone the case till the very last time they can go at it. So you may not end up paying anything towards the ticket (if it ends up going that way) until late the following year. (If there are any points that end up landing on your license they count from the day you received the ticket, not the day you are convicted)

You can trust me, I've got gobs of traffic court experience (._.)....

Always fight the ticket, at fault or not. They're very likely to reduce it if you weren't going triple the speed limit. I fight it every time and get reduced every time to no points. Most the time I don't even need to see the judge.

Never gotten a ticket. Should have, but my buddy in the other car somehow talked our way out of it. Which is stunning, as we were doing 90 in a 35, with traffic around, and very clearly racing each other.

In most states, a moving violation will stay on your record for 3 years, which means you'll have elevated insurance rates for those 3 years. It's up to you to decide if that's worth it.

Some insurance companies do not raise rates for 1 offense on the driving record only when you hit 2(all depends on the company and geographical location though)

Hell around here you can even call and set it up with prosecutors over the phone so it takes only about 15 minutes (around here at least, they have charts that let them know what reduction they can apply based on the speed you were doing over the limit)

And your particular policy even within the same company.

Nah, the medically appropriate treatment requires a syringe and aspiration. It requires urgent care by a urology specialist, and even then the prognosis is fairly bleak.
