65+ Both retired and no longer need 2 "practical" vehicles. IMHO, the GR86 is the best value in a fun to drive "sports car". Only consideration is that SWMBO is dead set against me getting a 6MT since that would be too impractical.....

That "SWMBO" stuff is exactly why the west is falling apart. Do what you want; that is what's practical.

Don't swallow the "86/BRZ is for youngsters" line. I'm 68 and my '15 has made a great GT car. Any number of my more "experienced" friends here will, I think, agree. The "too old for [name your activity]" mindset is a crock.

Honestly don't pay any heed to your age with regards to this car. Yes the target demographic is younger drivers, but if it's a very good car it can be appreciated by all ages. Only issue with these cars is entry and exit and that's dependent more on your physical shape, if you don't have an issue then there is no issue.

Frankly the first people I saw driving these cars almost 9 years ago were older guys at least 65+ or had enough greys to pass visually for retirement age.

I look at it another way. More mature drivers hopefully means less painful insurance premiums.

"this car is focus toward the younger audience"
This is exactly what was said about the first gen.
It was proven very, very wrong then and it still is.

For one thing there are not a lot of "young" people that have the money to buy cars like these new. The average age stays pretty high until the used ones hit the market. Then it starts to fall rapidly as the cars get older.

Dreamwonder makes the other point perfectly. As much as people in their forties may think they are "old" they really aren't. Not these days at any rate.
I remember a day when I thought forty was really old but since my kids are now in their forties it doesn't seem old at all!

42. I've owned everything from a Dino 246 GTS to an EVO X. Nothing to do with age. It's for anyone that simply wants one of the best driver's cars on sale. My buddies think I should've gotten a Cayman. I don't. Long gearing, poor steering feel, bigger/heavier with McPherson struts all around and no LSD. Never growing up...

Yep! Not like everybody here drove nothing but minivans and pickup trucks as soon as they turned 30!

We won't mention the "reverse" modelling that you so enjoy....

I remember about 20 or so years ago when my wife and I went out to look at mini vans. With 4 kids, it sounded like a good idea. We went to the first dealer (don't remember the brand) looked at one for about 5 minutes, looked at each other and said, "I don't think we are mini van people."

58 here.

Turning 56 shortly and will be trading in my 2013 FRS for a 2022 BRZ this week.

Assuming that the damn thing actually gets delivered.

Well right now they may be right! We drove down our main car sales road last night and I don't think there were 30 new cars between the 6 dealerships. For example the Chevy dealership had one new truck and nothing else.
Subaru did however have a shiny new red BRZ out front with the one Crosstrek and two Outbacks that appears to be their whole lot stock.

There is a red one in London if you want to drive.

Too far. Plus I already have the VIN.

Who'd have thunk having a delivery date over the holiday season during a pandemic would be such an issue?
