What is CTR?

Plus, there were allocations linked to customers which Rustyoid couldn’t see thru the system

500 GR corollas sounds much more reasonable.
I doubt we see 500 GR Corollas for 2023 come to Canada...

If we take the "normal" 10% of what the US gets for Canada then it would be around 600.
Of course they could break away from that and do less but that would be the max.

Pretty sure 6800 was the stated first year production for the world and the factorys limit is 8000? I don't think the US is getting 6000...

Could be. It isn't exactly clear who get's what. Even then the US will get the lion's share. The 200 for Canada just seems too low.

It’s certainly no Miata in that department, but keep it under 75 mph and from what I’ve heard it’s not terrible. Autobahn speeds will burn the dino juice fast.

My last tank was 7.55L/100km (calculated, not via car readout). But this is my during the last leg of break in (1000 - 1500kms) so no aggressive driving. And most of the driving was done in the evening in free flowing city driving @ 80km/h. For reference, my MY17 Gen1 FA20 did about 8L/100km under similar driving conditions (with some fun of course) and about 9L/100km in my AP1 S2000 (again, with some fun).

Sorry for being off topic to this thread.

7.55L/100km is superb since I only got 7.4 on my old BRZ.

Again, sorry for being off topic to this thread.

Just back from a visit to my local high-volume dealer where I talked to the sales manager, and he totally disavowed the claim that a deposit is always refundable under the law here in Ontario when a car is ordered if no VIN is on the contract. He said regulations are different in various provinces but here under OMVID rules the way it works is that you specify the car you want and there is a mutually agreed upon time for waiting for the car written into the contract; if that is exceeded, then your deposit can be reclaimed.

The rationale he gave for this makes a lot of sense from a dealer perspective, they don't want 20 orders on the books from customers who have deposits down at several dealers because they are trying to get their car ASAP, which will lead to many if not a majority of their deals being cancelled and leaving the dealer stuck with incoming cars for which they may not have customers.

If you look at the OMVID page on refund policies in Ontario it makes no reference to a refund being a right if there is no VIN on the sales agreement. Here's what it says about buyer cancellation and deposit refund:
Quote:
You may send a letter to the dealership provided that your contract was recently signed and you have not taken possession of the vehicle, AND,
you wish to cancel the agreement under one of the conditions specified in the back of the contract but mutual consent has not been given.
