Here's a vid that I previously recorded for another thread where I was trying to troubleshoot a low oil pressure issue. You can here the charger whirl at idle (bad stereo ground like noise), but when I rev it a few times you mainly just hear the headers rattling and the exhaust note.

Vid is of a cold start. Jump to the 1 min mark for normal idle and then revs.

Thanks for posting the pics of the perrin intake. I'm considering getting one as well since it looks like the only intake system that will clear the mocal oil cooler sandwich plate fittings. Did you get your ecu retuned after you installed it?

No not yet, cruised around a little and it felt fine though. Waiting on a header then back to full blown motorsports for a re-tune.

Thanks!

I can BARELY hear anything, maybe it's these crappy headphones on my work computer. I'll watch again when I get home. Does your car idle at 1500?? Mine has that low idle rpm issue - there is a TSB out for it i think. Drops to like 600-750, bounces back to 1k, drops back down, keeps cycling like that every 5 seconds or so. Makes idling REALLY annoying and makes the whine sound like a damn theremin. I thought uploading a tune would get rid of my idle issue but I guess it didn't - if I take my car to dealership to get TSB applied will it affect/overwrite my tune from Delicious?

I'll try to get a recording of mine, maybe it seems so loud because I have like ZERO boxer rumble going on hahaha.

My car idles fine, usually at around 800 rpm. The vid was of a cold start so that's why you saw the 1,500 rpm idle. After the cats warm up the car automatically drops back to normal, which you see at around the 50s to 1m mark on the vid. If the oil and cats haven't warmed up though and I blip the throttle then the engine will drop below idle, down to like 500 rpm, lug the engine a bit and then jump up to 1,000 rpm before settling back to around 800 rpm. That only started happening though with tune version 8.65. It doesn't bother me too much though because I know that I can avoid it as long as I warm the engine up and then drive normally until everything is warm.

I bought my FRS back in July of 2012 but I never encountered any of the issues that many of the first cars saw. Even still, the TSB for the idle issue came out around the time that I received my free third oil change from the dealership so they did their thing, what exactly I don't know.

If the dealership reflashes your ecu then I would imagine that you would lose your tune. Get in contact with Zach or Bill at Delicious and see what they say,

This is what I hear when I idle. I'm at home now and I can still hear that in my head. That howling wind sound really gets to me, maybe it's because of my days battling bad grounds in car stereos I don't know. But to me that is not a good sound and it's way too loud.

On the market for a header, what flows good with this setup? Any research or numbers for headers with the innovate kit? Curious if FI has a preference between EL and UEL. Any data appreciated!

Out of interest, what belt are you guys running on the smaller pulleys? I'm looking at a 70mm from a 75mm. The belt is very tight at the moment so was wondering if a shorter one is needed.
