Going off on what Erick said, I wanted to give up my premium to purchase dookie's Limited. Long story short, the owner (Desiree) blocked the purchase that Rich was willing to do all along. She wanted 5k mark up - greedy and shady.

She even called me yesterday morning saying my car had come in and that I should come in ASAP. I told her my salesperson was Rich and I never had talked to her in my life or placed an order with her. She kept insisting I had placed the order with her. F' Irvine Subaru. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. A+ for Rich though, he's a good guy

Explained the entire situation and even offered to work out a reduction in the mark-up. My buddy said "thanks but no thanks". Good luck to all of you guys. Looks like Subaru will lose another customer willing to pay MSRP to Scion.

When I was there Tuesday picking up my car they had five or six total. IIRC, SWP L, SWP P, WRB P and WRB L and one or two others that weren't PDI'd yet. Rich said two ppl gave up their order and that the owner took them to mark up $5k over sticker.

The sad thing is that some sucker will pay the $5k, thus further encouraging these shady practices.

1 of those was mine that I picked up a few hours later.

Loving it, though I've never had a more cautious paranoid 4-hour drive home thinking to myself "no kicked up rocks, no kicked up rocks.... don't rear-end me, don't rear-end me." lol

Nearly hit a bobcat running across the road though

On the topic of the $5,000 markup, Rich said the owner gets pissed at him every time he sells a BRZ to one of us at MSRP

EDIT: Oh yeah, that white BRZ they've got in the showroom at $5,000 markup. Two of the guys that worked there were leaning/sitting against the car chatting to each other and I just thought "man, the other ft86club guys would rip you a new one if you did that in front of them"

I really hope no one buys them with the $5k markup so that biatch will bring the price back down. Sadly, someone probably will.

Well, Rich said that they've sold 13-15 BRZs so far (they've been allotted 34 for the year) but that he has only sold 6 or 8 of them so I assume the other 1/2 were sold at mark-up.

Mine was first one Irvine Subaru sold. Preordered in late Feb or early March, can't remember exactly. I bought it directly from Desiree at MSRP. Was not part of the group buy.

So when I was filling out all the financial paperwork, the girl I was working with on it was telling me about when I should be bringing my car in for service and conversation went something like this.

Girl: On the second service you'll also want to get the tires rotated. It's important since your car is all wheel drive...

Me: Rear wheel drive

Girl: I'm sorry?

Me: Rear wheel drive

Girl (wide-eyed): It's not all wheel drive?!

Me: Nope.

Girl: But it's Subaru.

Me (smiling): And it's rear wheel drive.

Her expression of surprise was priceless.
