New Information, 8/5/11

New reliable information from the inside.

+Liftback (Hatchback)
+$20K-$22K.
+Body toned down a little from the red concept.
+7K+ RPM maybe 8K
+Toyota monitors all the forums and report higher up.

This is a guess on my part: ~2500 lbs.

If what you report is true, it's good to know the estimated price, RPM, and that Toyota is monitoring the forums. I think many of us assumed that it would be a liftback since that is really the only way to carry a full set of track tires and tools. Also, people realized that the Scion FR-S concept was too crazy looking to ever make it to production so that was a given. Now, if they can just give us a ballpark on the curb weight...

What makes this valid or "reliable" info?

To be honest I was expecting a bit more based on the thread title... Sounds a bit more like educated guesses rather than "reliable information from the inside".

Theres a lot of maybes in there...

I think we all know the forum is monitored to some degree.

So how reliable is your source with regards to the hatchback statement as the rest is a bit "maybe-ish"?

I do not believe in the price estimates although it would be sweet!!!! I believe the price will be 2-3k more than that.

Well, at least this is more reasonable than the last "insider news".... but yeah I'm not convinced. All sound like good guesses but too much bs here to believe anything that doesn't provide a source.

BTW - Need a few more for the FFL league... click link below. Even if you've never played before, it's pretty good fun and gives you a much larger perspective of the game (and a lot more enjoyment if your home team sucks - haha).

That's pretty much verification in my book. If Ichi only corrected one thing but didn't correct anything else - I think that's as close as he can come to giving us his inside info without doing so.

Either way, if this information is true the only other things to confirm are weight and horsepower numbers.

All with a grain of salt of course but encouraging if true.

Also if it looks like a toned down version of the red coupe I would be so fucking excited!!!!!!!!!!! This would also mean that there will be two bodies. One for us(N.America) and one for the rest of the world.
