I'm just short of 40,000km on mine (will prob hit that this weekend).

Fairly recent mods... FF, headers and a few bits have just made it even better.

Do I still love it - YES!
Am I aware of a few compromises... (like a tiny boot!)... of course.
Are those compromises big enough for me to get another car - NOPE!

This thing is just too fun and engaging to drive.

I only have 700 miles on this thing so take this with a grain of salt. I'm not even supposed to get up over 4k RPM yet so I can't get any power out of it. But the lack of low end torque sucks.

-I don't know if the skinny slippy tires are good or bad, but I see what reviewers men when they rate the crappy tires as a good thing. The car moves around a lot in the corners, it's fun.

-The car is fun!

-Great chassis, minimal roll. Very stiff over bumps.

-If you want a nice comfy ride, go get a Camaro (my wife's boat). If you want interior luxury, amenities and "well appointed" (reviewers idiots always say that) then get something else. If you start adding on the luxury crap to this car, you don't get the point as adding all that weight will fuck up the car.

I read a ton of reviews before getting this car. Hell, I knew I was buying it before I did the test drive. I also knew the engine had no cajones. But you HAVE to understand what this car is and what it is not because they are mutually exclusive. Any reviewer who knocks the car for a cheap interior, lack of options and harsh ride just doesn't get it and is judging this against a different car segment.

Everything bad about this car is like it is so the car can have what is good about the car. Cheap interior weighs less and has a lower COG and rattles are from a lack of sound proofing to save weight and lower the COG. Small back seats.. weight and COG. You need a stiff suspension (thus harsh ride) for you guessed it... weight and low COG.

The car handles like it does because it's so low and light and stiff and all the fluff and crap most other cars have (couch on wheels cars)- take you away from the driving experience & you from remove from what makes this special. The Camaro is nice and sometimes I just want to drive the couch on wheels and feel some HP, but if given a choice of driving the Camaro or driving the FR-S, I'll take my car any day.

Still no ragrets after 45xxx miles. I once was a kid who craved power for straight line adventures. That has been replaced by being able to take corners with ease.

fixed all the little nonsense items i was dealing with went to drive the car and heard horrible knocking sound, turns out my serpentine belt decided it did not want to last more than 35k miles and shredded itself.

Isn't that always the way it goes though?
