Check the instructions in the post. You have to remove the kit to do the upgrade.

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...postcount=2368 I may just bite the bullet and see how long mine lasts and then just replace it with the same part number if it's easier. I'd hate to have to remove and reinstall the supercharger! Especially if the current valve's still working. |

I've only had mine on for 500 miles. Guess I'll wait to see how long my BV lasts. I'd hate to do a whole reinstall unless I had to. |

E-Force + AC service = Fail
I am not sure if this has been discussed before, but due to some trouble I ran into, I wanted to leave a warning for E-Force users that you may run into some similar difficulty in the future getting your AC serviced. Again, this is based on my experience, but maybe others have had better experiences or have more knowledge to come up with better work arounds.
Anyways, after working through some minor install issues with my E-Force, I noticed that the supercharger runners block vertical access to the high side AC port (up by the compressor). So while the SC runners have been relieved to provide generous physical clearance to the port itself, the designer failed to consider port access to attach the high side manifold coupler for service. I brought this to Edelbrocks attention and they clearly realized this was an oversight as they went and confirmed it on their in-house car. What is not clear is if they will revise the kit in the future to correct the issue. I hope they do, but this one may be difficult. So with the kit installed, you cannot properly service your AC system (at least according to the specialists). I went searching for low profile couplers or some other type of port extenders to help gain access to the port but came up empty. I also bought a couple used AC hoses off eBay and tried carefully welding new high side ports on the hard line sections about an inch or so away from the stock one, but the heat was too much for the soft hoses (which was somewhat of an expected result). The stock ports appear to be soldered in, likely before the hardline is crimped on the hose. Anyways, the next thing I was going to try was welding a new port to the opposite side of the line, adjacent the condenser, but then access would have been really tough, or impossible. I took the car to the local Toyota dealer over a month ago to see if they would charge it, but they refused without access to both low and high side ports (as expected). One can't even remove the SC to access the port because the car needs to be running for service, which means returning the car all the way back to stock to get access to the port and have it running in order to do "right". That wasn't really an option for me. Nor am I a fan of dealers, and even less of small service shops. I got tired of wasting time and money on this so I just borrowed an AC manifold set and used my old home-made composites vacuum pump to pump down and charge through the low side port only. I am not an AC technician, maybe there is some other creative way to do it, but for me, I got tired of thinking about it and having no AC for three months (even though it's winter) so I put 13oz of R134a in it and called it a day. The AC is as cold as it ever was and running fine so far. Any issues that pop up, ebay used parts for this car are cheap and plentiful. I did find that some small AC shops will agree to charge only through the low side port for those who don't have the equipment or desire to do it on their own. I just don't like others touching my car Anyways, that was my experience with the recharging the AC on my Eforce equipped 86. I hope it is helpful to someone in the future. |

I had the same issue. Did the same thing, filled at home with my equipment. If i ever have a more serious issue I'm going to get a new line made. They are pretty inexpensive to have fabricated. I do worry a little about the availability of the metal section that connects to the actual compressor. We'll see if it ever comes to that.

Well I'm finally part of the club, installed it this winter and now I was finally able to drive it. So far it's running great, tune is good, but it's still cold here and it spins like crazy, first gear is basically useless... Shifts weird going into second, that's only real problem so far.
Definitely need a fuel pump to run this kit, F/A ratio was dropping to 14.5 with the stock pump at around half throttle, now it hold steady all the way...

So to put the new bypass actuator you basically have to uninstall the whole supercharger and install again? And if that one is bad you would have to uninstall again that sounds really annoying
