Yes, this kit includes a bypass valve.

I want this kit so badly. But $1k for tuning sounds rediculous to me. Is there a way to save on tuning?

$1k for Ecutek (normally $345), Ecutek Cable/dongle (normally $350), and CARB tune (normally $500) seems pretty fair to me.

It will never be discounted, unlike some other kits that just don't sell at their MSRP. That, and Jackson Racing does not allow for discounts on the kit; you get the same price everywhere (like an iphone), so you purchase from whoever you think will offer you the best post-sale support. The kit just came out of a ~4 week backorder.

Just curious so If you rev out low gears to say 5-6k by low throttle you wont' make any boost right? So not really just rpm dependent but also load dependent?
I assume its not until your part throttle enough to hit 0 vacuum that boost comes in?

I thought boost was rpm dependent because the SC is connected to timing belt.

You only need about 1/3 throttle to hit 0 vacuum; you can fully modulate the boost at will, using the accelerator. It's literally like driving a larger engine, in terms of power delivery. |

Just took mine out for its maiden voyage. Superchargers feel weird.. Definitely a good kind of weird though. Also, this kit sounds pretty neat when you get on it. Its not all that loud, but it does make some pretty interesting sounding noises haha.

I was looking at picking up a Front Drift Bar from http://www.driftarmor.com/about.html. When I was looking at the JRSC install PDF (page 13 and 14) it looks like you use at least one screw to mount the top left of the inter-cooler to the front bumper. If I got the Front Drift Bar would I run into any issues? Without it being in front of me I can't see what might be needed to fabricate something to secure that top mount of the inter-cooler to the Drift Bar.

The Drift Bar would be "insurance". I wanted to get it as $150 for the bar is far less then if something happened to the front of the car... If I got the front I was going to get the rear as well.

You realize the drift bar replaces the factory bumper beam, right? It's less "insurance" and more of a compromise of the structural integrity of your car in the even of a collision.
