Just did this upgrade today. One thing that got me was the 3 retainers at the back of the headliner. They are the push-pin type and I was trying to pry out the entire clip at first and then finally realized that the 2 piece clip is just that, 2 pieces. If you look at the first post, picture 5, what looks like a gray shadow right under the black part of the clip is actually the 2nd part of the clip, so you need to insert your small screwdriver BETWEEN the black part of the clip and the white inner part to pop them apart. Was going to take a picture of the clip but forgot and put it back together. You can also use a pair of Channel-Lock pliers to loosen the antenna nut and save yourself some dough on buying a 22mm socket or wrench. Nut is not that tight.

Just bought this one:
http://www.frsport.com/Subaru-86321C..._p_398683.html

Free in store pickup if you live in so-cal. Also they have a tax season sale going on now (30% off), so all said and done (tax, shipping) it was $158.21

I'll be sure to give an update when it arrives

I'm a little confused, I looked up the part number for my scion ultramarine and the image displayed doesn't look like the shark fin. Can you confirm if this is the correct part? I don't want to buy a second antenna... http://toyotaparts.bochtoyotasouth.c...ota/su00305514

UPDATE: It came pretty fast and I just installed it. Here are a few tips:

• When removing the 3 black rivet things, dont just shove a screwdriver under it and pull as hard as you can, there are TWO layers a black sitting right on a white plastic layer. Be sure to slip your flathead carefully between the two and it should pop right off. You can then just pull out the white part of it with your fingers.

• They didnt have a 22mm socket at my home depot, so I got a 22mm flat wrench instead, this turned out to be a good thing because…

• I didn't fully pop off the back of the lining because when I went to remove the trim piece it didnt want to come off and I got a little sketched out since there's an airbag right behind it. Instead i just removed the 3 rivets and was able to slide the flat wrench in (with the help of a flashlight) and remove the bolt.

• I used a knife to slice the electrical tape, and performed the whole operation without creasing my lining or having to pull off any trim pieces.

• I freaked out for a second because my satellite said no signal (not that i ever use it), but upon moving my car out from under the carport I realized that was just blocking the signal, the antenna was working fine. So I popped the 3 rivets back and and everything's good so far!

• also since I was sliding my hands between the roof and the lining, I got some weird scratches from some sharp fibers in the lining, I'd recommend gloves and long sleeves.

All and all a very easy procedure and it looks way better than any of the aftermarket ones— worth it!

Sorry for the late response, I'm not on forums as often as I used to be. Yes, it is the correct part, that is just a stock image.

If you are unsure, best thing to do is order from the dealership, they will generally accept returns with no restocking fees. But I am confident it is the correct part number.

I have a beat sonic on my 2013 BRZ. I've noticed that my GPS is spotty when searching for addresses and that barely have access to HD stations. Anyone else having that issue, and will installing a 2015+ OEM shark fin fix the issues?

In my GT86 there is separate round antenna to be installed near base of front windshield, at least for stock toyota's Touch & Go navi. Is it different for BRZs? If same for them aswell, how should antenna type on top of car affect GPS reception?

I was able to swap out my '13 antenna for the '15 last week.

My reception is still fine, however, every time I start my car, the radio tells me to "Check Antenna." Has anyone else experienced this and/or been able to fix it?
