Same here. I sort of enjoyed the lack of steering controls because it just says "I am a sports car, I don't give a rats about convenience" as it should.

What a terrible looking front end. That back isnt great either :/

I feel they were like, ok we have this one cool unique looking car in our lineup. But we want to sell more like we do with the Camry. So grab a whole bunch of random elements off those other cars we make and mush them together on the front end. That will do it.

The rebadge to Toyota has nothing to do with the changes. They would have been the exact same changes if still badged as a Scion. The car is a Toyota everywhere else in the world and did not look the way it did because of the Scion badging.

steering wheel controls are dumb. not gonna help my BT connected phone playing spotify/pandora or whatever so its just a waste. Especially since I dont have an iphone. Hope they get better material so these don't peel at least

A few more small details

Toyota put more "T"s in the new grille and seems to have sweated the details here (even if the end asthetic isn't to everyone's taste (including myself).

The attention to detail is also important because the horizontal piston badge looks to be redesigned without the emphasis on the boxer engine configuration. This might point to Toyota de-emphasizing the importance of a boxer configuration and point to a new engine not in this car (of course), but in the next.

I have a feeling the refreshed BRZ will be more visually appealing if the design cues from the STi concept and new WRX design find their way into the BRZ.

Haha nice.

Really though, I'm like a lot of the rest and think the lower gearing, and improved intake are there to reduce / move the torque dip and get the 0-60 time to 6 seconds flat or less.

God I hope this isn't heavier.

Come on guys, it is a facelift. They couldn't change a lot of things, but I agree that it could be better. It also looks more cheap ánd with more plastic to my eyes. I don't like also the direction they are going. Hill descent control on a drivers car? It ruins the original character of the car.

Hill descent control? It's a system to keep you from rolling backward down a hill when starting from a stop. But if that's what floats your boat, then I guess it's not for you!

I have been on this soapbox before but whatever the plans are for the car they are already drawn up someplace. They do not plan these cars on a year to year basis but have a minimum 3 year timeline. Since this is still a relatively small change but does impact body style my guess, based upon 30 years in the industry is that they will rub with this new style for 3 years and then will either kill the car or do a second gen.
Or of course I could be way off base and talking out my ass.
I feel like Toyota needs it for their image. So I expect them to do one more generation. But maybe not, the driving dynamics of the IS/GS products from lexus have radically improved, the RC-F will help and if they keep up the momentum they'll turn the toyota ship too. I just think its early to throw in the towel on the 2dr rwd affordable market.
