My car got SKUNKED and possibly me

So I was driving home from work and then I see this animal and I'm like "NO!!!!, but then I saw the white part and I'm like OH MY GOD NOOOOOO" So anyways I dodged it as in I didn't run over it but I heard it hit something from underneath my car and well I'm guessing it sprayed the entire underside of my car.

I'm so glad that I had my AC off at that time too but I had my windows down but I rolled it up pretty quick.

So my question to you all, if for some reason I smell the skunk through my vents, am I kinda screwed? And how would I get rid of the skunk smell.

Had this same thing occur to my first car... I left the car windows rolled down for days and soaked the interior repeatedly with Febreze; however, it took months for the smell to go away!

Since its the bottom of the car that was sprayed you're going to need to apply any true fixes there!

Replace cabin air filter too! My volvo got skunked and the smell lingered for awhile until I replaced the air filters.

My volvo also got porcupined, had quills all in the tires and rubberized sub frame

Damn woodland critters

I personally got skunked last year. It is probably one of the worst things I've ever experienced, as my house reeked for the next month or more, but I wasn't even aware after like 5 days because I had gotten so used to the smell. It seems like your situation isn't so bad and I don't think the smell should manifest in the interior. The enzyme solutions are the best

You'll probably want to remove the skid plate and soak it in some solution. Perhaps get the car up on a ramp and give the skid plates, driveshaft, and exhaust a sniff and see if they need to be cleaned.

Speaking of which my skid plate is loaded with dead bugs / beetles and rocks and grass and dirt.

My dog got sprayed by a skunk last year and it is the worst thing every... She ran into the house and the whole house reeeeeeeeeked for about 2 weeks. The worst part is you get used to the smell but everyone around you still smells it. Either rinse it off right away (with gloves and old clothes on) or wait for it to dry the use chemicals. DONT get any of it on your hskin or in your hair.... Goodluck to you lol

That has to be the worst animal luck ever. Seeing how its under the engine bay as well which causes alot of heat and heating making skunk vapors even more foul,...... i feel for you sir. lol

Update: So I had some co workers walk around my car and sit in my interior to see if it smells like shit (I sprayed the shit out of it with fabreeze) and they said they didn't smell anything and one of my friend turns on my AC and im like NOOOOOOOOO but he said that it just smells like normal air.

I was afraid that I got used to the smell that I wouldn't have noticed it. But apparently my car does not smell like shit. But one of my co workers decided to go under my car just a little bit and take a whiff (what a brave man) and he said you can only smell like a faint skunk smell.

I hope he's not trolling me because I'm about to change my oil really soon and when I go under there and it smells like ass changing oil is gonna be really annoying LOL
