Question Have a tire pressure gauge you really like?

I have 3 tire pressure gauges - two built into pumps and a handheld cheap one. The cheap one is hard to read and I don't trust it because it's just that cheap. I was just reading the tire pressure thread and it reminded me I've been meaning to buy a reliable gauge that's easy to read specific numbers, and preferably has a 90° connector so it's easy to use on bicycles too.

So does anyone have a gauge they realized was a really good buy after having it for a while?

Not cheap, but I bought a Longacre Magnum several years ago, and you'll be hard-pressed to find a better analog gauge - unless it's another Longacre for twice as much money. The large face makes it easy to dial in pressures in less than 1psi increments. Since it is analog, no batteries to worry about, and it has a glow in the dark face. Plus it comes with a nice metal storage case.

Hell yeah. I'll be considering this one as my number one choice until and if someone recommends another one. I suppose it's good quality, huh? I totally don't mind dropping $80 on a badass gauge for my whole life.

Very good quality. I worked as a tire man for a Grand Am team last summer (setting pressures for all their tires - on a three car team), and they were using the same gauges. So if it's good enough for a professional race team, it's good enough for us amateurs. I've been using mine for at least five years now, after getting tired of the $20 ones that would read 3psi different, for the exact same model.

Aw man, I just realized they stop at 60 psi. I need one that goes to at least 110 for my bicycle. Preferably 120 just to have some room. That's not a deal breaker though, my bike's pressure isn't that important. This would be great for my car.

Use a different gauge for your bicycle. The error ranges are maximum at the ends of the pressure ranges. Accuracy for your car will be poor if you try to use a bicycle pressure gauge.

I use this Longacre one.

0-60 PSI. Perfect for car tire pressures since you're usually around the middle. The gauge is less accurate at the maximum and minimum ranges.

There's a pressure release valve to relieve air without having to "reset" the gauge. This is really important if you take your car to the track because it will save you time. Almost everyone will run without the valve stem cover to save even more time.

Only thing I wish it had was a dial that could rotate 360 degrees. Not a deal breaker. It's usually reserved for more expensive gauges.
