Ouch! Hope there's no damage to the side body panels or the paint.

It's likely not a tint film defect. I would guess that it is a result of the tint film deforming over the defogging conductors that transverse the rear window, causing little flat spots that refract the light from behind. I noticed it on my BMW too, though not quite as bad... I can't say if it got better as the adhesive cured or if I just got used to it over time.

Same issue here with Llumar tint. Probably also has a lot to do with the angle of the window and the proximity of the wires. A lot of them in a small vertical space. But you get used to it....

Ah fuck, what happened? Anything to do with that big warning sticker in the window?

No type of dust or anything I could identify to hit it, just some chips of glass from the windshield.

Ya they left a note, thankfully. I always get to school 7am to park on a corner so I have 50% less chance of a door ding...didn't imagine someone would hit my car making a turn...never parking on corners again! haha

I feel your pain, some kid rear ended my 2007 Mustang GT at a stop sign.

He told the police officer that he didn't know what happened, he just "blacked-out"

Probably the dumbest thing you could ever say to a police officer lol

I used to park on the corners too for the very same reason...I'm shocked this never happened to me.

Use the insurance money to upgrade

someone backed into my car as they were leaving their parking spot. It's a weird parking lot arrangement, but thankfully they reported it too and apologized. I was scared initially because they didn't leave a note!
Hopefully things will turn out fine!

I guess here is as good as any to actually make my first post on these boards. Picked up my 2014 WRB BRZ exactly a week ago. Yesterday the modding began (outside of a drop-in K&N). Did some cosmetic work: LED Replacements (Dome-stage2, Trunk-stage3 and License Plate-stage2 -- shout out to @Diode Dynamics for their wonderful interior kit they offer, was a breeze.) and got her tinted (35% on the sides, would love to go darker, but would raise too many flags with the gestapo CHP out here, 20% on the rear).

Sorry, the pictures are a little "potato'y". Also, not sure if you guys frown upon imgur albums, if you do, I'll edit them in to be part of the post itself.

Album here

Also, just wanted to thank everyone for their spreading of honest/fair info around here, it was my main research point for this car.

Today I hit my car with a metal tipped shovel...and left a 4in long scratch. On the bright side, didnt break through the primer so touch up paint and some wet sand should fix that.
