I work for Toyota parts currently so this came straight from toyota thru TIS. The pump is new and would have to be ordered. Im in the southeast region and it shows we have only 1 available so its gonna go backorder regaurdless. And yes TSBs are not recalls so you would need to take a car in for inspection to confirm chirping exists before a replacement can be issued.

Dealer is saying the part number on that new tsb is not the one used for the newer 16s or 17s. That's a different part coming up.

This is correct...as I just confirmed it myself thru the Toyota parts catalog. The 13-17 all show to use the latest SU003-06089 number which is also showing to be replaced per the TSB to that new number in the bulletin.

The new part number on the bulletin has been in the system since July.

Back from dealer. This is a dead end. It is just a new part number on the same part and nothing else.

Aside: I have seen crickets catch fire.

I once worked on a movie starring an elephant running around in a swamp in Florida after escaping from the circus. Because what better place for a circus than a swamp. We had a bunch of 18 and 20 kilowatt lights set up to light up the fish camp where the circus was staged. When the sun went down, a cloud of mole crickets rose up from the swamp and swarmed our lights. Those lights get pretty hot, so the crickets would fly into them, catch fire and spiral smoking to the ground to land in a steaming pile underneath each light.

They smelled delicious. I wish I were kidding. The crew was talking about how good they smelled, but nobody was brave enough back then to try one.

Having spent time in Southeast Asia (Laos, Cambodia, Viet Nam, and Thailand), I can assure you many people eat crickets and consider them a treat. They taste pretty good as bugs go...

From what I see this definetly seems to be the case. I'm probably going to order one for stock here and compare them anyway.
