Did we get same 2016 86/FRS as Japan?

We should suppose to see more different. ><

Power steering info on the Japan site

Electric power steering

To pursue the steering feel with a direct sense, in addition to enhanced mounting rigidity, such as the steering column, the steering gear ratio 13: Set to 1. I realize a linear steering feel in the sports car seems quick.
Yes, the cars will have the more rigid rear with change in steering feel in sport mode(s). Lightened front fenders... I seriously doubt that the rigidity enhancement wouldn't be done to the FR-S, when the GT86 would, ... more here

April 30, 2015
TORRANCE, Calif. (April 30, 2015) – Scion’s FR-S performance sports coupe is getting its style on for the 2016 model year. With interior improvements, two new colors, a new standard audio system and a rear-view back up camera, the next FR-S also sports a new price.

The Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of the six-speed manual transmission FR-S is $25,305 while the six-speed sequential automatic transmission with paddle shifters and Dynamic Rev Management technology is $26,405. This price excludes the destination, processing and handling (DPH) fee of $770.

The 2016 FR-S has a new premium feel with bright silver interior accents on the steering wheel bezel, shift bezel, door grip, and along the sides of the center console. Also inside the FR-S is a new standard audio system with a large 7-inch touch-screen display and voice recognition technology.

For added safety, comfort and convenience, a rear-view backup camera has been integrated into the FR-S, as well.

Adding to the new look, two new colors will be available with a new red called Ablaze and a new blue called Oceanic.

The 2016 FR-S will be available in dealerships beginning in June.

I thought that 2016 Toyota 86 in Japan also thicker the rear panels for additional rigidity which is not only the power steering.

Yes true, I also saw someplace the rear welded crossmember has been made more rigid. But yes by the rear adding a little more weight is fine since the weight distribution is 53-47 based on driver and passenger weight. More weight in the rear is good.

Not as good as less weight in the front. If memory serves the 2016 weighs in about 50 Lbs more than the 2013 now so overall weight is increasing each year.

Do we have pictures yet of what the factory backup camera looks like? Also, does the BRZ get this option as well?

Is this increase just because of reinforcements? 50lbs sounds like a lot.

Scion web site still has the weight listed as the same for the 2016. 2758 for MT and 2806 for the AT

May be my mistake then. I read somewhere recently that listed the 2016 manual at 2806 and I remembered the 2013 manual at 2750.

If I recall correctly the 2016 Japan only Cb version was a bit heavier. That could be where you read the weight.
