I have a '13 BRZ Automatic and I love it. I can drive Manual but I chose the Auto so I can enjoy the ride, too. In regular mode yes it's more "boring" but it's also more fuel efficient (a factor for me), but turn on sport mode and it becomes more fun and responsive. Manual mode makes it interesting and more entertaining.

Plus it's just cool to say it has a manual mode!

I agree with the OP...

I bought a manual, but I've driven the auto on the street and on the track, and I came away impressed. It is by far the most responsive automatic (with a torque converter) I have driven. After the track test drive comparing it to a GTI DSG (this was after I ordered my car but before delivery) I was almost second guessing my choice...almost.
Same with the color. I ordered "blue" sight unseen, and the first time I saw hot lava, I was a little bummed. Don't get me wrong...Ultramarine Is still my favorite, it just needs the right lighting conditions to look its best. Hot lava catches the eye in any light...hides the dirt better too.
The TRD exhaust does sound great on these cars. I was a bit peeved when I pulled mine out of the box and saw the tiny little mid-pipe, though. Reeaaly small. Like 1 5/8" small. That reminds me...I need to get around to that "how to improve your TRD cat-back" thread.

I know a lot of people shit on CVT's for some odd reason, but the level of improvement in the last 10 years is astronomical. I recently had a Coralla S as a loaner, the CVT was seriously was impressive, sure you had the drone but it was spot on with responsiveness. Would i buy a car with one? No, because reliability is still questionable.

When it comes to the Auto on this car, you get what to pay for. Fast shifts, smooth shifts when cursing. The downshifts are on par with what you get in any torque converter. It's a good transmission.

Likely temperature in Celsius. No idea even what car it is since I was just after a pic of a tach at 3000.

some times i do regret not buying an automatic because of Toronto traffic. But you guys are right. The - "oh bro its an automatic?!" would kill me. I'd end up regretting why i didn't get a manual instead. Lose lose i guess

Or you can just ignore the opinion of people who didn't pay for your car (in other words, they don't matter)

Easier said than done. I can take hits. But when it's directed at my man hood. It would hurt. Every real man needs a manual!

Must be sarcasm..? Guys aren't this insecure right?

I drive an auto because traffic. And coffee. Must have free hand for coffee. But I'm a girl so I don't have to worry about my manhood. I have learned that the people at meets that care about your transmission are not the ones you want to hang out with anyway.
