My thought is if they have done Ecutek must be close or already tuning and maybe we will here something soon!

I took a look at them when I had my Mazda 3 and they claimed to have tuning solutions until further research on the Mazda Forums showed mixed results. From what I read on other places they specialize on trucks. With mixed reviews also.

I would just be wary.

Im mentioning Ecutek because, along with OFT, have worked on these vehicles the longest, and I have high hopes people like CSG are able to help the second gen owners. Plus I really want to see how much power these new engines can make. If anything, just want to give folks a heads up before venturing with other companies that are not normally used within the community.

GR Yaris ECU being cracked actually meant you had to take the physical ECU out of the unit and send it that company to get more invasive probes into it in order to flash new MAPs/Tunes etc. I don't think they were able to just flash with with ODB2 cable. There's a whole spectrum of "cracked". remember tethered jailbreak of iPhones.

OR, the cynic in me says they blatantly announce they've done something no reputable place has done. then they set up a pre-order page, rake the cash in, string people along for a few months, long enough that the credit cards get paid off, so they can't deny the charges, and then perform a vanishing act!

You may be on to something lol.

Yes hopefully anybody looking at tuning waits for OFT or EcuTek and doesn't get suckered by some unknown company.

I had OFT on my FRS, and Ecutek on my BRZ, will likely be going with Ecutek for the 2nd gen.

Actually, I want lots of people other than me to beta test as many different options as possible.

Honda ECU’s used to be like that. Hondata has been doing this type of mod to factory ECU’s for decades.

For anyone who doesn't know. VF Tuner is formerly OV Tuning (Orange Virus). Supports the community for a short time then bounces.

Yep, Orange Virus was too fucking lazy to even change the title tag (what shows up on the tab of your browser). Look for yourself.

https://vftuner.com/

They announced monster gains for ND2, independent testing showed they were lying, and they disappeared.

In other words, I'll wait for Ecutek. But only if they can figure out how to make it so you can flash back to stock when you take it to the dealer, without tripping the counter the dealer can see.

Otherwise, likely won't be worth the risk for me this time around.
