17” OZ Alleggerita wheels with stock 215/45-17 tires… 17x7.5 or 17x8 wheels?
I’m looking at ordering a set of the OZ Alleggerita wheels in the Anthracite finish fitted with 215/45-17 Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires for a Whiteout FR-S that’s a DD car. The car is stock mechanically.
Would the 17x7.5” +48mm or the 17x8” +48mm wheels be a better match for the stock size tire? I also noticed that TR has a Kosei K4R wheel that’s in the same weight range… anybody had good or bad experiences with either the OZ or Kosei wheels? Thanks for any comments or suggestions… |

7.5 would be a better fit unless you're looking for a stretch.
On the other hand, if you plan on buying wider tires when you wear out the Michelins, I'd get the 8's now, deal with a little bit of stretch, and then go with 225's or 235's when you wear them out. |

The stock tires will look pretty stretched on an 8" rim, but a proper 215/45 will look good. 8" is the upper limit, but within spec for a 215.

I guess that I should have worded the title a bit differently… stock size 215/45-17 tires… not the stock Primacy HP tires. I’ve got winter tires on the stock wheels and will try to sell the Primacy HP tires in the spring.
I’m looking to put 215/45-17 Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires on the new wheels… so the question is 17x7.5 or 17x8 wheels? Would 8" wheels help or hurt performance? |

I used to run 205 on 8" rims on my miata. It didn't even look stretched. The stock tires are pretty wussy for 215 so they would look a tiny bit stretched on an 8" but nothing major.
