You're telling me that replacing pistons and rods and installing a turbo kit is as complicated as installing a 2JZ-GTE engine in an FR-S? .
I hhhhhhhhhardly think so.

Complicated? That's relative. The 2JZ is a proven platform. More is known about how to make a 2JZ go fast vs the FA20. Tuners are still arguing about how much power an FA20 can handle *reliably*. Time will answer your own question..

And I bet people thought that way when the 2jz was released.

Considering followings are the time clocked (quarter mile) for GT-R, 458, and R8 GT, that thing is incredibly fast.

GT-R - 11.2 sec. @ 121.8 mph
458 - 11.3 sec. @ 125.6 mph
R8 GT - 11.5 sec. @ 125.1 mph

It was Motortrend that did the test but it's still stupidly quick for this platform, I like it!!!

It's a four banger. There's only so much you can expect.

Maybe only so much YOU can expect. why not put an 804ci Sonny's prostock engine in it, I mean the 2jz is only a 6cyl. People learn to make power by pushing limits like this. Innovation is key.

What innovation? You mean the combustion engine? Right. The formula is not rocket science. The FA20 is not God's special delivery to humanity. Lol..

Nope, that's the LS engine. Can we stop derailing the thread now?

Congrats on the pass man, that was a great run. Hope this lights a fire and more people start gunning for 10s or lower.

No not the combustion engine. Pushing the limits of new engine platforms not just doing an engine swap. No one said it was gods gift BTW. Keep trolling

I do recall Toyota running a 4cyl in an IMSA GTP car making close to 800hp. I was told they were running 140lb of boost. That was in the early 90s.
