I don't believe credit is tied into it here. And if it is, I doubt it has much to do with it, since I've had exceptional credit over the past 7 years.

I bet it has more to do with my two tickets (2.5 years ago, I got nailed for 15 over in Saskatchewan (which, should technically be off my record now, since it'll be gone half way through the policy next year) and 1.5 years ago, I got a ticket for an improper turn) than anything.

Your credit rating affects your insurance rate? How the hell does that work?

Maybe they do that here as well but I have never heard of it before. Really adds another variable when we get the semi annual "What do you pay for insurance" thread.

Heck, according to that ....... my insurance should be FREE .......

@soulreapersteve ........ reminds me of the time, just after I got off active duty from the Army, we moved to California and rented an unfurnished apartment.

I never had a credit card and had always paid cash for everything. Well, I was a bit low on cash and went to Sears to buy a bed and open a Sears charge account.

They wouldn't allow me to open an account (thus buy a bed) because I didn't have any credit history. So, we slept on the floor for over a month, while I was establishing a credit history.

Yep, a college graduate, a captain in the Army (inactive) and I couldn't buy a BED on credit.

Oh yes, "C" rations, heated up can be quite tasty ....... if you drink enough whisky before you eat ...... just ask @Tcoat and @Cole ......

Hey, you'll survive.
