Brace yourself for all the "WTB OEM Scion Badges" threads.

I wonder how this will affect pricing for modifications. Namely, I'm assuming once branded as a Toyota the HIDs will be standard and I'm hoping higher volume = cheaper prices. Probably not since people are willing to pay the current price, but I can dream right?

So people are getting excited now just over their Scion badges? Well geez, if Scion could've been axed earlier I would've gone for the Toyota version. It was a bad marketing idea then, and still is/was now. Very good move by Toyota, although a late one.

I hope HIDs become standard or atleast offered on a higher trim level, instead of only "special models" 10 series, monogram, RS...

I've never understood the Scion Hate (nor the Lexus Love) that has been going on since its inception.


I realize that Scion may not have hit its intended demographic as well as Lexus did but in the end they are all still Toyotas. If calling it a Scion lowers the price like calling it a Lexus raises it, what's the issue?

This opens the door to all the Toyota franchises that didn't spend the $ on Scion franchises to sell the previously slated for Scion models. This can only result in higher sales for those models, hopefully WITHOUT cannibalizing the Toyota line sales. I think the recent model introductions were strategic in that there are no Toyota equivalents.

eg: Matrix discontinued, new iM, no Yaris sedan presently, new xA. The FR-S is a unique model as well and they can extend the cycle out of the existing platform by rebranding it a GT86 (lots of people will buy into that I bet), and then at the end of the cycle possibly offer higher price option packages before the next model into.

Scion dealer dude here ... I expect a lot of incentives for end of lease Scion customers to make sure they renew on Toyota. Especially XB, XD and iQ owners ... last year was the case when the Matrix was phased out. I assume that it's going to be pretty spectacular for these people !

On the flip side the FR-S will be relevant again now that you will be able to negotiate. Last I checked the FR-S base price was higher than a BRZ which came standard with better options.

Maybe a regional thing because around here the FRS is way below the BRZ pricing.
