Yea 9/10 mine is in a custom kydex IWB holster. About the only time I open carry is at the range, then it's in a Blackhawk cqb holster.

I have a lock box with a steel cable I put through the frame in the trunk. makes it easy to de-gun inconspicuously. In my TC I had it in the glove box, wasn't very convenient, and before I gave the 1er to the wife I had the cable through the back seat seat belt bar and the box under the seat. So far I like the trunk best.

Edit-forgot about this until I posted, maybe a solution for you

I carry a Para Carry 9, basically 3" 1911. The problem with carrying while driving is if you get it in the right place for comfort, it might not be easily accessible. I have it at my 3 o'clock and it is not the easiest to draw while buckled in.

I'm not against people having guns, I just don't think you've thought this through...

This must surely be some sort of joke or troll attempt. Surely you are not that ignorant of history.

Yes, if they are acting criminally or immorally. It would be considered moral and civic duty. That's actually exactly how the United States came to become a nation much like many others. British soldiers showed up at people's doors and imposed their will upon them, in many times not so nice ways.

I don't think you've thought anything through. It's not about me versus the US or any domestic or foreign aggressor. It's about We the People standing together to protect our innate freedoms against potential and actual oppression. When the government puts you and your friends up for execution because they don't like your opinions or because you were falsely accused, will you and your neighbors wish you had the right to protect and defend yourselves then?

To be honest, it's people with your mindset that I fear far more than any army or tank. I used to have my own tank fyi, served in the military, and have multiple degrees including History, Philosophy and Political Science. I think I've thought this out better than yourself sir. Surely somebody must have thought it out better to have provided you with that you do not see fit to defend. How amazing is it that you can openly disagree with others without having ever picked up a firearm or having to defend yourself. I wonder how that happened? Interesting...

I'm not a big guy, either. Skinny. 30" waist, 5'11" tall. I like its slim single stack nature for carry in tighter confines than I do any gun that is double stack (even if it's smaller). Width, not length is the concealment and comfort factor for me.
ooohh Dan Wesson. That's a nice piece of equipment! I was looking at getting a Pointman Nine...but they've since sold out (took the state 7 months to get back to me on approving it).

7 months is what I'd expect on buying a suppressor or getting approval for an SBR upper.

What's nice about guns is that MSRP is the price ceiling... and most dealers will sell WELL below MSRP. I got my V-Bob for $1600. Traded in my S&W E-series 1911 for it too. It was the trigger. It was simply perfection.

this is the best thread on the history of the forums.

even better than the guy that cried wolf about winning a brz for cheap on ebay when the seller didn't follow thru, and begged this community to do something about it.

I love you, ft86club.com

i'm 5' 10'', 150lbs, my xdm .40 in the paddle is taller than I am wide, it hits the side bolster which pushes it into my side. I used to hang the paddle on the side pocket of my 240.. won't fit in the frs. Also trying to find a good place that doesn't scratch up my interior.

Look at the pictures I posted in the beginning of the thread. That's the xdm paddle holster. It does scratch though if you are heavily stippled and taped.

Every gun thread no matter how innocently started usually ends up like this when ccw detractors or "what are you scared of" promoters jump in. So, folks, stop it. Just stop it.

BACK on topic, thank you!

Ok I apologize. It was off topic.

Carry on.

Hey another gun debate! Tried this once and the thread was locked in 2 hours. I wondered about this since before I bought my BRZ, where to put my gun is a big concern to me when it comes to car buying.

This is what I came up with:
My 1911 stays in my crossbreed at about 3 o'clock, it's surprisingly comfortable, it does however leave a "dent" in my leather seat. I have a J- frame in a SERPA OWB that I click on to the door pocket. The lip of the pocket retains the holster nicely for a quick and confident draw. When I exist the car I simply transfer the J frame into a pocket holster as a BUG.

I also clip a Benchmade automatic on my sun visor for quick access.
