NA FRS

I’m currently trying to get more power out of my Scion FR-S, but it is my daily so I have no intent on any forced induction. Does anyone have any ideas on getting more horsepower. E85 is like finding 100$ bills where I live so no flex fuel. I have a performance chip a cold air intake and a cat back exhaust as well as lighter wheels and such. I dyno’ed at about 230hp

Do an NA engine swap I think that’s about as much as you’re going to get. You could drop $5k on a stroker kit and you might get 15 more or so. Also get aftermarket headers and do a stage 2 tune. That’s like +20 I believe.

I would like to do the headers and I’d need an OFT due to the fact that NO ONE in my area offers FR-S tuning. I was thinking I take manifold spacers as well

Go buy a used one off someone. But NA power levels are low for this car honestly. You could do a backseat delete it drops 20lbs off the car. Lighter battery, take out the spare and hardware in the trunk. FI is the move man get a supercharger for reliability.

Don’t beat on it too hard and you should be alright. This car isn’t made for power though man. It’s for sliding and drifting. It’s okay if you lose to a mustang on your local hwy tell them to meet you at a mountain or something.

The more you research on this subject, the more you'll see that you can prevent it fairly easily. Get a centrifugal supercharger, don't put high load at low RPM, get a perfect tune, and don't get greedy. Check your oil, manage your heat, and let it rip.

I would be interested in seeing a Dyno sheet that says an FRS with a cold air intake, catback exhaust, aftermarket wheels, and a "performance" chip making 230 whp. Considering most people need E85, a header and a tune to reach ~200whp.

For the biggest power/torque increase, go with catless aftermarket headers + tune (Ecutek or OFT).

Feel free to PM us if have any questions about ANYTHING!
