I guess just looking for anything in the thread that needs to be pointed out after so many people have ran the kit for years now, like "tips and tricks" kinda info. I have a catch can, and everything is running great right now.
Just make sure nothing is rubbing, re-install the factory air guides, get hood vents ,and enjoy!

It's still offered for the 13-16. Did you want to place an order?

In that case, you'll need a custom tune, but that's also available

Oh I remember a specific question I had....I'm looking for a way to check and verify boost/vacuum level. Has anyone done this with a physical gauge, or is there a way to log through a PID?

You can log via Ecutek. With bluetooth connect, you can also visually see it on a display of your choice.

any code reader can also give you a realtime display, as with most track dataloggers.

Y'all sell the kit with the tuner and tune? Really want to make it dummy proof for myself.

Hello 86ers!

Long time no see. My JRSC compressor died earlier this year. It had been on my car for several years, though it only covered ~18,000 miles in its short life.

It saw one track day and a couple of autocross events, in addition to its occasional street use. The compressor had begun making a demonic screeching noise earlier in the year. I checked the traction fluid levels several times during its run, including of course when the noise began. It never needed additional fluid except when the noise began, at which point I could only add about 2Tbsp of the fluid (following JR’s instructions for checking/adding). The noise became so bad that people nearby would always turn their heads to see what was making the terrible ruckus. I ended up having the kit pulled.

My mechanic said that he could feel that the impeller shaft (not sure if that’s the correct technical term) had cavitation(?). I don’t remember exactly how he described it, as it’s been several months and I’ve been super busy.

My question is - what should I do with the rest of the kit?

Is it worth selling a kit with a failed compressor?

I’m bummed that it died, it was fun - especially in AX.

Thanks for your input.

Have you checked to see if you're covered under warranty for the Rotrex unit? A new unit would make your kit as good as new.

Hey Mike!

I bought it all the way back in 2014, so I think I’m out of JR’s warranty period.

Happy holidays!
