rear seats?
Is it me or what?
The rear seats are kinda made for kids under 10 years? heck, my ex Ae86 used to have more space for adults at the back? what wrong with every new coupe today? (ie, sc430, is350c)

I'm hoping the rear seats could be as usable as they are in Mazda RX-8 but that doesn't seem to be the case here.
The fact that there has been 0 photos of people squeezing in the back seat tells you something. I'm really wishing it wouldn't be like Audi TT gen.1 which had absolutely useless backseats. |

The only thing the rear seats are good for is lowering my insurance since it won't be a straight up 2 seat sports car.

yeah im bitting my nails here.
the rear seat is the make or break for me. if my 3 y/o twins cant sit back there (yes, in seats)... i dont think i can get the BRZ/86/FR-S. and im 5'11.5". test drive will be the only sure way to know.

If it helps, they'll fit comfortably in the back of a WRX, which will likely be similarly priced.

To the people that are relying on the rear seats being useful to seat people; you'll likely be very disappointed. These seats are going to be just as useless for humans as a Porsche 911's rear seats. They'll be perfect for backpacks or grocery bags.

Most of us concerned about rear seat are concerned because we are family men and need to fit a kid or two back there. As a kid I use to fit in the back of my uncles 911.

I know someone that has a car seat in both of his 911s to haul his kid around. If that's your definition of useless, I'll take it, cause baby-moving is all I need the rear seat for too.

I don't care if the rear seats can haul people over 4''9'. Plus more people will make this car feel like a honda civic base in acceleration. Trust me I know.

The rear seat room isn't going to be comfortable. But the bottom line is that is has rear seats. MKIV Supras and 7th Gen. Celicas didn't have anymore room back there either. I've used both as daily drivers and having those back seats does come in handy whenever there are a few extra people around that need a ride. You can slide forward, let them get in, then slide back with their feet being underneath the seat. You'll still be sitting a few inches forward than you would most likely prefer, but it is doable. If you plan on carrying 4 adults with you everywhere you go though (all the time), this may not be the car for you.
The thing that appeals to me about this car as compared to a MR2/Z car/s2000 etc. is the simple fact that it has 4 seats. If you have to squeeze 4 people in, you can make it work, don't expect to be happy doing it all of the time. But if you're cruising around in your 370z with somebody, and then you get a call from a buddy saying they need you to pick them up -it's an emergency!!!!! - DUN Dun dun........ somebody's riding in someone's lap. |
