I don't have a purchase agreement handy, but offhand I can remember: doc. fees, emissions, registration/title, finance fees (if you are not paying cash), some other sort of "processing/handling" fee that I had a dealership eliminate, and of course watch out for all the way overpriced add-ons like extra alarm, vin-etching, scotchguarding, paint protection, and extended warranties.

Never traded a car in before but planned on making a trade for the FR-S....good to know it will reduce the amount Ill be paying in sales tax...if only slightly.

Im afraid the Doc fees will offset that though.

They are all negotiable. A dealer would rather sell a car at MSRP with no doc fee's than not sell a car. Mine was quoted at 400 I think, I negotiated no doc fee and a hair under MSRP, $28200 for a BRZ Limited total cost before tax. Just get it in writing...

$199 and I was actually trying to argue (or well debate) the doc fee.

Looked like a no go..

I intend to say TT&L...nothing more. I believe the DOC fee should be listed under dealer installed options. Perhaps checking the price menu should be my first move. edit: I am willing to pay $55 if it is a mandatory fee for Scion. $55 is my local cheapest, $150 highest. I won't pass on the car for just $55.

In my past experiences DOC fees were always negotiable down to zero. But again, we're talking about Scion and their wonderful job of doing all the negotiating for you! Thanks Scion, yes, apparently my IQ is well under 100 which is presumably the target demographic for this pricing scheme.

OK Southeast Toyota and the dealer fees are this.

Delivery, Processing, and Handling Fee: $795.00

Dealer Closing Fee: $299.25

Sales Tax: $300.00

License Fee: $35.00

Total: $1,429.25

And the FR-S coming in has every option Southeast Toyota could put on it like mud flaps, window tint, upgraded radio, carpet floor mats, pin stripe, and Southeast Toyota guard (BS paint protection) so lets just say about $2,000.00 in installed options.

If I buy this one I'll be lucky to walk away with a $30,000.00 bill.

I might just wait a few months for all the "New car" shock to be over.

It's limited in Minnesota to $75 and I don't think I've ever been charged one and so far they haven't tried to slip it in on me.

You sure the SE Toyota guard isn't the 3M Film, not the "(BS paint protection)"? That is installed at the dock so that may be it. Did you get a line item price for it?

Not that you may want it anyway, just curious.
